Q: is this kettle wood handlw and stainless steel body or does it have a pattern, picture confusing !

Wood EFFECT handle and lid stainless steel body. The whistle and the lever part (which turned out to be plastic) are the parts that will break. Apert from those it is okay. Oh and it doesn't hold 3 litres , 2 litres reaches the maximum fill level. I guess it will HOLD 3 litres if you are holding it spout up and filling it as you would a hot water bottle !!!

Even after boiling (for longer than expected as I didn't put the cap down!) the handle is not too hot to hold.

Q: We live in the south with extremely chalky water. My kettle has arrived but has no filter. Any ideas if you can purchase something to stop the chalk

I also have this problem. Solution is to add 3 to 4 tablespoons of vinegar to a kettle full of water and boil the kettle. every 4 to six weeks (or when necessary) Any vinegar will do. Throw this water away then boil a kettle with plain water and discard this also. I have no problems when doing this. Hope this helps.

Wood look rubbery type handle & lid. Steam comes from spout when boiling. This kettle is excellent, we've had no problems.
