I give this 5 stars because as other reviewers advise its great value for what it is. The finish is fine and its pretty robust and when fixed down will be a great way to protect valuables. It is not fire proof but it does not claim to be. Its heavy but not too heavy, its solid but not over the top.Now the drawback which I see so many other reviews have commented on. The instructions are misleading and not at all clear. The factory set pass code is not correct and it seems a lot of people are using the override key. Here is the fix that worked for us.The Red reset button is inside the safe on the hinge side of the locking mechanism (a small red button)Get the door open and unlocked.Press the red button it buzzes then input the code you want and press A or BGuess what it worked.Making sure we had the override key outside, we shut the door and locked it. It locked fineWe put our reset code in and it opened.One final point whenever we get an item with batteries supplied we always discard them and put our own new ones inSo despite an anxious hour when we wondered why we had bothered, we now have a nice strong secure storage facility that's perfect for what we needed

After removing all the packaging I thought it looked small. Then I emptied my old safe into the new one, I was very surprised how really big it was. Everything fit in nicely. Even the larger pieces, and still room for more. Very pleased with it. I found the key a fiddly, but after a few tries, it was much easier. The depth was great. I had thought it would be heavier than my old one half it's size. No. Once fitted to the wall and floor, it would take a JCB to move it. Eight bolts, four of my own were just perfect and really was what I wanted from a safe. Insurance was informed of the change. After 20 minutes, they called back. As they had checked out the safe online, it had no security rating, so my policy did go up a bit. That aside, and the extra bolts made no difference. I think the makers should get a security rating as this would help their sales and their clients would be happier too. A good deal for it's price, size and peace of mind.

Well made strong metal safe.Packaged well arrived in perfect condition.Contents include, safe, manual, 2 override keys, 4 batteries and 4 bolts to attach to a wall or floor.This safe is quite a decent weight. Nothing feels lose, everything seems nice and secure. I cant see a way to easily break in. The metal frame of the safe is seamless other than the door.Nice strong metal door.The safe can be opened via passcode or override keys. The override key area is beneath the cover on the front of the door. Within the safe is a removable metal shelf.There are 4 holes at the back, all corners and 4 holes on the base, all corners. This gives you the option to attach to a wall or a floor.As you open the safe door, there is a light, this permits a good amount of light, this will come on when the door is opened and stay on for roughly 20 seconds.Easy to assemble and set your own passcode. You will need to use the over ride key to begin as there are no batteries in.Unlock with the key, on the inner door is the area for batteries. Remove the cover add the batteries. You can now either keep the factory code or set your own.(The preset factory passcode is 1, 5, 9.)To set your own -• Press the reset button.• Input chosen code. (3 - 8 digits)• Press A or B to finish.This should now be set and ready to use. A and B are both functional to open the door after inputting your code.So far, ive had no issues with using this safe at all. It was easily manageable to set my own code. Everything worked as it should straight away. I wasnt aware there was a light, so that was a little bonus. I think for the size and quality it's an absolute bargain price. Most safes I'd looked at at this size the price got very high.Only issue - My safe has chipped a little in places. This hasnt effected the use of the safe at all and it will be hidden away so it's not bad for cosmetic damage but a little disappointing.I would definitely recommend this safe. It works fantastically. Nice, strong, durable and a very good size capacity. Easy and quick set up. Everything you need provided.

Safe arrived this morning, first impressions were good. It is a very tidy a nd sturdy safe at a very good price. It was very easy to set up. Fixing bolts supplied (4) shelf supplied, batteries supplied. Two override keys supplied as well. It is really important to read instructions a couple of times and you won't go wrong. When it says press the red button to reset code??? there is no red button. On the left of the battery compartment (when door is open ) there is a black catch like thing, just push this button like thing and you are away. There's also a built in light which stays on for approx 20 seconds then off when you close the door. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this safe.

Item arrived as expected and is surprisingly good and larger than the picture dipicts which was quite nice.The instructions on resetting the code took a few minutes to work out due to the fact that the location of the reset button was not immediately obvious.Once the reset button was located, the rest was a breeze....good bye to always having to search for important documents and valuables as they can all now have a secure home!I would recommend this to anyone who needs a reasonably secure safe...only downside is the lack of fire protection which would have made it more expensive.

Was recommended this Safe by a friend so went ahead and ordered it. It is a good solid Safe, though not too heavy. My husband found it easy to install and drilled the bolts into an outside wall in a cupboard upstairs. Was easy to set up after I read all the posts online about how to. Ideal for keeping important documents in as well as some spare money etc. I know it is not fireproof but that was not my main worry, opportunist thieves are, this will therefore offer some protection for my valuables.
