my Shepherd German has been on this food for near on 6.5 years I have tried a few differnt makes over the years but always come back to Barking Heads she does great on it and she seems to enjoy it only one thing I would say is that she is quite a big breed and I wish they could make the kibble size a little bigger but apart from that my dog is great on this food

I've been using this food a while now. I starting using it when one of my whippets was diagnosed with heart disease so she couldn't maintain any body weight and was gradually losing weight. I put her on this and she managed to maintain her weight. I now have two whippets who both have delicate tummies, but one is the petite skinny type (10kg) and the other is the stockier type (16kg). This food is perfect for the skinny one, as he struggles to keep weight on because he's a little skittish and always on the move, so this food helps him maintain his weight. Doesn't suit the stockier one as he is prone to gaining weight easy so he ends up a bit tubby on this, so I have to put him on a grain free food with less fat content. With this food their poop is solid and very few, no more smelly farts, no more trouble with smelly anal glands and within a fortnight his coat was great. Give your dogs 4-6 weeks on this food and you will notice a difference. Highly recommend.

Dog loved these as soon as I swapped over. No GI issues as you might get with some poorer quality foods. Pack keeps kibble fresh and it actually smells quite good....a little like Marmite. My toy poodle 1 yr old no longer eats this as he gave up after a week but he is just extra fussy. I would say 5 star for quality......but kibble size a little too large for him. He is now on Orijens which is a premium brand but well worth the money. Thank you Barking Heads!!!

Concoius that what you feed your pet is vital we have tried a few things and witnessed the health and wellbeing in our bulldog. Raw food was by far the best keeping her trim and enegetic with good skin and overall, after being sick on it and her being put off raw we could not afford to keep wasting expensive defrosted food so we switched to this. Her health and weight have stayed well, only putting on a few extra pounds which we are monitoring and adjusting the ammount she gets, she gets very excited for feeding time even waking us up early just like she did with Raw food. Most of the other dried foods gave her either bad skin or heavy weight gain. My opinion is that if you can't go full raw for some reason then this is the next best thing.

Our dog has had a bit of a rough time travelling between the Italy, the states and Ireland, he's settling in well now but the food was tough to master with brands being unavailable, too expensive for us to ship or just different in Ireland. We tried Royal Canin lab specific dry food which was good but he didn't seem to have the appetite to eat it unless it was mixed with wet food. Timing may be key here but this is the first food that our little guy has wolfed down in a long time and it's great to see. Personally I'd say this is "moist" food - I'm sure there is a term but it's definitely not dry - probably all the fish oil. Anyways - top stuff for dogs, smells a bit rough but it's dog food not me food. Will be subscribing to this going forward (also going to try other flavours too)

This kibble is definitely one of the high-end ones and after I changed to this for my whippet his digestion seemed much more normal. No wind and normal stools as opposed to very gassy every night and loose stools all the time. It certainly seems to be much better quality than the ones I used to go for - Skinners and JWB, but I am also deciding whether kibble is really the best thing for my dog since it's so far from a 'natural' diet for a dog which would be eating meat if in the wild. More research to be done I think. For now though this food is about the best I can afford and is cheaper on Amazon for some reason, than the Barking Heads website.
