Digital LCD fridge and freezer thermometer M010072 by cool2day

Works well. I had never realised just how disruptive opening the freezer door & putting in more food to freeze was [the temperature rises far quicker than I had ever imagined] so this little gadget is teaching me better habits.I have found it best to pass the sensor [the thermometer part] into the freezer very low down because the cable is not flat and caused frosting in the freezer around the insertion point when I just hung it over the top of the door for convenience.So now the sensor head is held in place with a loop of thread going all round the freezer door, the thread is held in place by white insulating tape on the outside of the freezer door [because tape inside does not work at freezer temperatures]. The excess thread and the unit's excess cable is also fixed to the outside of the freezer door by white insulating tape [but this is just to hide it all away from sight].The display is held in place near the top of the freezer door by a small loop of sticky tape with some rubbish inserted to angle it slightly upwards for ease of viewing.Added May 2017 - I have just had to replace the batteries after 17 months use, which I think is okay. I have had no problems with this thermometer at all.

It took five days to get this product working correctly. It was about to be thrown away, but opening up thebox revealed one of the sensor wires shorting across a resister. After moving the wire the temperature readingwas finally accurate - it had read 25.5 most of the time but now freely increases and decreases.Finish quality is good, probe wire also good. Inside its obviously made by hand and not very neatly. The sensorwire is held in place with some glue - so don't go pulling that or changing its orientation or it will break again.If you're not getting any luck with this £1 probe check its insides or buy something at a higher price withbetter build quality. But once working and with the above caveats its worth the a quid.

tested in a proper enviroment. cannot vouch for accuracy as didnt test, but for quick measuring points they are perfect. i got one room filled with them for multi level measurments, and because they are very responsive (unline others) they are even better for the jobs on the go, where you need to change airflow/temp and woudl like to see almost instant results.also, supplier of my choice.edit 18 june 05 : batteries still going strong after few months. ive been rough with few, but seems fine. for the price quality is absolutely the best. still not tested quality of measurement, but seems consistent (i measure airflow temps in few points). and really i love the quick reaction on these, changing airflow direction can have a big impact on temps, and these react almost instancly (i think pol a sec or 2) ;)

Cheap and cheerful. No on/off switch so arrives up and running. Remove cover at back to replace battery. LCD is sharp when looking directly at it. The temperature probe is on the end of a 500mm piece of wire. Mine is mounted on to my FT air rifle and after 2 months winter use seems to be standing up well to the rigors of outdoor air rifle target shooting.

ARRIVED QUICKLY BEFORE STATED DATE. SMALLER THAN EXPECTED, REQUIRES DOUBLE SIDED TAPE TO STICK TO OUTSIDE OF FRIDGE, CLEAR DIGITAL DISPLAY, WOULD HAVE PREFERED PLASTIC CASE TO HAVE A WHITE COLOUR OPTION TO MATCH FRIDGE/FREEZER. GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY ORDERED 2 ONE FOR EACH COMAPARTMENT FRIDGE / FREEZER.

Arrived quickly and worked straight out of the box. I put it into the fridge and the freezer and in each case the temperature displayed OK. It takes about 10 minutes for the probe to cool so it's not quick, but that's not a problem. Good value.

Bought five to have a duplicate external temperature to my work fridges. Against a calibrated probe all were very accurate. Very cheap, and therefore the cases are not very strong. Used double sided tape to stick them to the fridges, but hard to secure inside fridge. Slightly poor construction menas if they are knocked they will fall apart. Hence one star away. Best of the cheap breed!

Took 6 weeks to arrive. Can't be turned off to save battery, and arrived with batteries in and turned on.Still, it's extremely cheap, so pretty all 4 stars are for that. Can be mounted into something too, which is a nice bonus.
