Excellent product and would highly recommend

Over time I’ve ordered five of these spindleless 50 packs (and three of the 100 spindleless packs) for my music collection to play in the car, and once burnt they play fine. I’ve had problems when burning them which I presumed were software glitches or system errors as two latter versions of the software would periodically crash shortly after the burning process began, whilst an earlier version and an alternative product seemed to work fine. There didn’t seem to be much logic in this as sometimes I could burn a lot of disks without problems and then I would have a run of problem disks. Unfortunately, when problems arose I had to waste quite a few disks (sometimes five out of every six), which soon added up and made the rest expensive. However, reading through some of the other reviews before writing this one I noticed that other people have had problems with these disks too, which leads me to think that there might be some problem with the disks rather than the software as I initially presumed. It doesn’t explain why the earlier version and alternative product worked. To be fair, they were only used latterly and to finish recording a batch or two of CDs, as shortly afterwards I dispensed with disk burning and started using SanDisk flash drives, which only involved copying files and no burning (and proved to be a cheaper, better, faster and more reliable solution) so they too may have had problems if I’d used them long enough. As such, and seeing as I never had any problems with the Sony disks I was previously using, I can only presume that these disks may have problems. I could be wrong and I probably need to keep on testing with the earlier and alternative software to determine if this is so or not, but as I’m now using flash drives I doubt I ever will. So, I have to keep an open mind regarding the burning process, but when burnt I’ve never had any trouble with any disk and all of them continue to work flawlessly every time I play them in the car or elsewhere. I bought the spindleless versions because I’d kept the spindles from the earlier Sony purchases to use. This worked fine as I just filled up the spindles as necessary and carefully wrapped any loose disks left over until I could get them onto the spindle as well. To conclude, I don’t want to knock these disks too much as it may still be software or system errors that were causing my problems. All I can say for certain is that once burnt they’re fine, and although I’ve had to throw out quite a few disks I’ve also had a lot whereby I haven’t (hence the repeated purchases).

Good quality and value for money

The disks are fine, and seem to be of good quality, but they arrived without a spindle. At first I thought that this was some new fashion in disk packaging, to be spindle-less, or else this was the result of the discount price. It wasn't until just now, when reviewing the item for Amazon, that I noticed the product description indicates that it should have come with a spindle. As it is, I'm having to immobilize them using the box they came in and some packing material in order to keep them from sliding over each other and damaging their write/play surfaces. If I had some empty spindles there wouldn't be a problem, but I'm in a new location and there aren't any old spindles hanging around! I'd feel pretty silly trying to hit up the seller for a spare spindle! :-) I suppose I'll survive this experience when all is said and one.

From the name Maxell you expect perfect recording quality. No problems with burning discs so far. The quality of the CDs is as expected, though I came across one with a slightly sharp flaw on the plastic edge. Not quite as good as TDK discs, which you can't seem to buy anymore in a 50 cake box. Seemed a reasonable replacement with a plain enough face to stick printed labels on the disc without showing through. There seems to be a lot of complaints in various CD-R reviews about bad discs. These are not the case and come as an eco pack without the plastic - so save your old cake box.

I’ve already used the entire box, so I can give a proper review. The system didn’t throw a single error while burning these discs. Everything worked perfectly and smoothly. I am very satisfied with the quality of this product. Highly recommend this seller!

CD-R semplici ma affidabili. Li ho usati per musica e finora non ho avuto problemi particolari. La scrittura va liscia e i dischi vengono riconosciuti senza difficoltà. La qualità generale mi sembra buona: non ho trovato pezzi difettosi nella confezione e anche dopo la masterizzazione i dati vengono letti correttamente senza errori strani o blocchi. Per un utilizzo normale fanno assolutamente il loro lavoro. La capacità da 700 MB / 80 minuti è quella classica dei CD-R tradizionali, quindi perfetta soprattutto per audio CD. Oggi magari è un formato meno usato rispetto a qualche anno fa, ma in certi casi resta ancora molto comodo. Anche fisicamente i dischi sembrano fatti bene. Ovviamente bisogna comunque trattarli con un minimo di attenzione per evitare graffi. La velocità di scrittura elevata è utile, anche se personalmente preferisco sempre masterizzare a velocità più basse per avere meno rischio di errori, soprattutto con i CD audio. Nel complesso sono rimasto soddisfatto.
