Q: I am looking for protectivie eyeglasses so I am able to use my UV Short and Long wave lamp to view tagged stamps. Will these work for that?

I'm not an expert in regards to light wave frequencies, so the mention of UV and "long wave" together in a sentence causes me to assume you are referring to short and long as a subset of the UV spectrum. I could not find the exact range of light wave frequency that these block when researching. That being said, I used a cd with a halogen light to diffuse the spectrum and found these glasses capable of blocking all but the most lengthy blue light. that would be all the purple, most of blue exempt l for a sliver of blue that is very close to the green. So far in real life application, I have yet to find that "sliver" in my everyday world.

Q: Why is it more expensive here than directly from the BluBlocker site?

It is actually less than it is on the BluBlocker site if you consider shipping.

They should fit,nose piece is rubber,glasses are light in weight
