Does exactly what I needed.
This was bought so I could use my vhs player on my new TV. The picture is very clean and has no noise.

Works perfectly for computer Svideo out to TV Composite in.
Ages ago we were given the full set of Jesse Stone DVD’s but the last few were region 1 so via an old Svideo to scart connection we were able to play them on the laptop and watch them in black & white on our LG TV (which has no Svideo inputs). This was very atmospheric, cool & old-school (for those of us brought up on B&W telly) but as we’ve recently started playing an excellent computer based Rummikubs clone, it occurred that it would be much nicer playing on the telly rather than huddled around the little laptop. With coloured tiles, however, B&W is totally useless. After much research and experimentation, this little cable seemed to be the simplest answer and, not surprisingly, it works perfectly. We now get full colour via the computer’s Svideo output. Not unexpectedly with component video, the picture quality, though not too bad, is not brilliant either. However, while poking about at the back of the telly I noticed an RGB VGA connection. As the laptop also has a VGA output I simply plugged a spare VGA cable that I had knocking about into the respective connectors, messed about a bit in Windows 7 and Bob’s your uncle; a really crisp picture. This inexpensive little cable is therefore redundant for its original purpose, but I’m sure it will come in handy some time or other.

Perfect solution
These little fella isn't that simple to find around and this one works great. as much as I would have loved that it would be only a connector-type adapter (this one has the cable attached between two connectors), the quality of the product is top-notch and I think (hope) that it will not break easily.

Great little gizmo
I know it's a cliché but this thing does exactly what it says on the tin. It has allowed my son to play his purchased movies on his iPod onto the television. Works a treat. Delivery was rapid. Great price too. Recommend to anyone with same requirements
