Light weight lock
This lock is surprisingly lightweight but feels & looks well made. How long it will last out in the British wet weather is unknown as we do not know what the internal lock mechanism is made from due to its lightness. It may be far stronger & durable than we think but only time will tell. Being old school I think we would have been happy with the weight & durability of a stainless steel version as this lock is fitted to a wrought iron side gate. If ithis lock lasts OK then it would be worthy of 5 stars but at the moment I am happy with is performance

Nice action, not that secure though
Nice smooth action, very lightweight. Security wise though it's quite easy to pick/rake. Can't comment on weather resistance as I've only had it a few days.

It Works Well For A Low Security Lock
I bought these as a Lockport beginner, some time ago. They make very good basic training locks at a fair price. Once you know how to do it, and with practice, these locks can be opened non-destructively, and without a key, within 2 to 5 seconds.Putting them into context, these padlocks are a more secure lock against picking than most MasterLock padlocks, and are better value for money. Note that Titalium™ is a tough Aluminium alloy. The locks are well-made, and fine for basic security of low value items.

Decent sturdy lock but bypassable.
I was surprised how sturdy this lock is. The bitting on the key is very good so that's a plus. I would say NY only disappointment is for all of its sturdiness and key bitting, the locking pawl is shimmable. This is a way of bypassing the key to open the lock. Basically it's a hack to bypass the locking mechanism. A ball bearing instead of the usual sloped metal lug would have fixed this.Come on Abus, you can do better.

Locks stuff up.
I use it to lock my shed. So far, no-one has broken in to the shed. Either, it's a very good padlock, or nobody has yet tried to break in to my shed.Easy to use, comes with 2 keys, and feels very well made. Probably a lot stronger than the plastic hasp of my shed! Recommended.

Bad news is that it seems it is not very strong ...
... good news is that the damage to the shed was quite limited, after it was broken in to.I bought this for my allotment shed which is not exactly fort knox, and anyone who want to get in could just kick one of the walls in. Still, worth having a padlock on it to prevent casual theft. The other week I came down and found the door swinging in the breeze and the padlock nowhere to be seen. The hasp was bent but both it and the loop were still attached to the shed. Looks like someone jemmied their way in and the lock broke. Must say that surprised me as I expected that the screws would come out of the wood before the lock gave way, given that kind of treatment.Bad news, then, is that it seems it looks like it's not very secure. Good news is that if you're putting it on something that is likely to get seriously damaged when someone breaks in, then it seems like this will break first.perhaps it seems mad, but I just straightened out the hasp and have bought a new one of these.
