Energy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, 24-Count, Espresso Love

I've been using this for a couple of years on and off for running and I've noticed a beneficial effect when using it. For shorter runs straight after work I take one of these just before I start to give me a boost, so I don't flag halfway through - they tide me over until I have my evening meal. For longer runs (including half and full Marathons) I've found these help keep me going when my reserves start getting lower. I've only tried this flavour (as I'm a caffeine addict), but it really hits the spot. Packs are easy to open whilst running and the mixture is like a thick sugary goo (may not be to everyone's taste), so always best to have some water to wash it down with. There are smaller pack sizes available in mixed flavours too, so you could try them if you're not sure about the flavours, consistency or benefits. Highly recommended.

Excellent product for high intensity physical activity. Can be consumed whilst running & gives instant fuel. Espresso flavour is great. This is the best price i could find anywhere! Very happy with purchase.

The first energy gel I have tried that actually tasted good, not just acceptable. The consistency is a little thicker than others, and it genuinely tastes like coffee, so it has become a joy to consume these on a run. Would completely recommend.

It's a pudding in a sachet that makes you go buzz. Perfect for the early hours of the morning during a 24hour bike race, and frankly every other hour. 24 in a box - one an hour is all you need - that and a pit crew who physically pull you off the bike because you've not actually eaten anything else and are looking like you want to start headbutting zombies (sorry - I mean other competitors). Thankfully "da-youf" haven't caught on to these yet, otherwise school corridors would be littered with little plastic sachets (with the letters GU on). Make a change from the little clear bags though I guess.

Awesome product, 4 stars as just a tad thick to squueze out the pack on the move...but would highly recommend if your a coffee lover like me!

They work for me and keep me going on long runs.

I find this gel very handy as it is compact enough to fit into pocket, but the main thing is that it supplies a good energy boost. I particularly like the coffee flavour as it is more palatable than some other flavours.

Gu was the second brand of gel I've tried. I found gu worked well for me. It doesn't feel heavy in the stomach and doesn't give me gut problems. I've tried 4 flavours and Like them all. Root beer was my go to no caffeine gel, but can't seem to find it this year. Caramel macchiato is just awesome gives you that extra boost. Chocolate outrage is just an odd way of saying it tastes like chocolate icing. Espresso LOVE is for coffee lovers. It tastes great.

This GU gel is easy to carry on the pouch during trekking activity and doesn’t upset the stomach. Espresso flavor taste like just like coffee.

J'utilise déjà régulièrement la version "Triple Baies" et celle "Caramel au beurre salé" de cette marque pour mes courses longues. Comme ces dernières le format de ces gourdes est très bien adapté pour les sorties longues (j'en consomme un par tranche de 10 km parcourus) et dont le goût est agréable ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans ce genre de produit. Faciles à transporter, ces gourdes contiennent dans un faible volume (32g), une grande quantité d'énergie pour seulement 100 calories. Elles apportent l'énergie nécessaire grâce au fructose naturel (sucre rapide) et à la maltodextrine absorbée immédiatement par les muscles. Comme elles contiennent un ensemble de sels minéraux, elles retardent aussi la déshydratation. Elles permettent aussi de soutenir les efforts intenses grâce aux glucides complexes qui stabilisent le taux de glycémie sanguine tandis que les citrates accélèrent la conversion de ces glucides en molécules énergétiques. Attention, il est préférable de boire l'équivalent d'un verre d'eau juste après son absorption, cela permet de diluer l'effet sucré tout en maximisant leur effet.
