Brabantia 109744 Sort & Go Waste Bin, Plastic, Mint Green, 12 Litre

We use the 12L bin as a compost caddy, i.e. to temporarily store compostable kitchen waste before taking out to the garden. We found the usual size of compost caddy a bit on the small size as we eat a lot of fruit and veg and also make fresh juices. We were worried that the 12L bin might be a little on the large size for this but you don't HAVE to fill it right to the top and even if you do it's not too heavy and the handle is more than up to the task of carrying it out. Worries unfounded, the size is perfect. The bin is made of a quality plastic with a matt/satin finish and looks very nice in the pastel blue colour. The lid easily lilfts completely off and the Brabantia 12L liners fit perfectly inside (a few of these are included with the bin). There is an option to mount it on the wall with the included bracket. This looks very sturdy and functional, but I can't comment fully as we had nowhere suitable to mount it so it just sits on the floor where the last caddy once sat. In short, very happy with the purchase and glad we chose Brabantia.

I love these bins, at last I've found the perfect bin. There's no mechanical bits on it to get broken or food stuck in it. The lid hides the Perfect fit bags ( which are a bit pricey). They are really neat and compact, but fit alot in. I have bought these bins in all sizes for both waste and recycling. They have a useful handle to carry it if needed. Somebody has really thought about this when designing it. I hope they start making them in more colours. I know it's a little sad to say, but I love my bin 😊

I love this bin which just feels (as well as looks) hygienic. I have it mounted on the inside of the door to my under sink cupboard. The cupboard could do with being just another 5mm wider as the bin knocks against the unit frame when I shut the door because I have an under sink storage unit in there to hold all the stuff I used to keep on the window sill above the sink in my last house. The sink unit is in an island in my new kitchen so there isn't a place for washing up liquid, brush etc. I gently give the bin a squeeze when I close the door and it slides in nicely; the chap who fitted it though said this would annoy him, but it doesn't bother me as I had to do the same in my old house, for different reasons. The lid stays open for as long as you need it to do so while you transfer your rubbish into it. The 10L Brabantia bags let you fill the bin to capacity and it's amazing just how much they hold.

Great colour and quick delivery. Good little bin. Didn't come with sample bags or wall fixing plate, so only given four stars.

I bought two 12 l buckets in two different colors. Dimmed colors that dress my kitchen :-) Surprised by the high quality. Fittings and screws are included to hang the bucket on the wall, on the closet ect. - and also comes with rubbish bags. Everything well packed. The lid is hinged on one side of the top piece - easy to lift the lid and put your recycling in. When the bucket has to be emptied just remove the top piece with the lid and carry the bucket in the handle. Xenia, Denmark

Oh this is THE perfect size bin for me. It fits perfectly where I need it to go. I wanted a bin when the lid could be lifted and stay up, not swing back in place. Sturdy. Looks tidy. Lovely colour. 12 lt. Ordering the compost bin now.

Rather small but that's my fault!

This is an attractive and sturdy recycling bin. I bought originally for recycling but decided to use as storage for one of my kitchen mixers as perfect size and looked smarter than the box I had in before. I reordered the larger size for recycling.

生ゴミ用にブルー系の色を購入。16リットルはちょうど使いやすいです。この色合いがめちゃめちゃ気に入りました！ 蓋はどうなっているのか、わからないまま、購入しましたが、プッシュロックでもなく、普通に手で開け閉めするタイプです。パッキンもついてないので、匂い封じできているのかは、わかりません。 10年使えると書いてありますが、10年製品保証というわけではありませんので、ご注意を。 ちなみに、ダンナは、開け閉めが面倒だとか、蓋がゆるいと文句言っています。

I mostly bought this item because of it’s sleek appearance and the blue color is really amazing. It’s a great size for lots of uses but I use it as a compost pail. The lid stays on snugly but slips off pretty smoothly. With the swinging handle it’s super easy to dump all the veggie trimmings and coffee grounds right into the compost pile and rinse with the hose close by. It’s sturdy and I know I’ll have it for a long time.
