I've owned quite a few loupes which I use mostly for checking film and negative quality for scanning, but also prints. This one is probably the best, and certainly the best value for money. The glass lens is very good, for a simple 10x lens, and helical focus is a nice touch that adds versatility. It is solid and well-made. The LED's are quite even and bright and very helpful for prints, and solve the usual loupe problem of your head blocking out light you need for inspection. Batteries are cheap AG9 alkaline button cells, although it uses 4 of them. Comes with a hook to fish out expired ones, inserting replacements is not too bad provided you have some dexterity and decent eyesight. The reticle is of no use to me, but it takes seconds to remove. It even comes with a simple faux-leather plastic case, which is not a thing of beauty, but is functional. Criticisms? Only that I too think a non-latching switch button might have been better, and save batteries from inadvertently being left turned on. But it's obvious when the LED's are on!

I've got a number of loupes and magnifiers which probably comes from being a bit OCD about optical tools and gadgets of all kinds. Some I own are cheap and cheerful, others rather expensive and excellent. I've tried some rather poor ones as well. I rather fancied trying a loupe with LED illumination, so had a good look at what is available. There are several 10x LED loupes on offer which look very similar indeed (and perhaps some are identical) although the prices vary by up to a factor of three! This particular loupe is at the bottom end of the price range at around £25 but I thought it worth a try. I was genuinely surprised how good it is! It certainly does quite well optically when compared with far more expensive loupes from, eg Peak of Japan. The design, manufacturing and optical standards are all good. I'm not saying it is right up there with the very best, but it does not disappoint and is excellent value for money. Bad points? The glass measuring reticule has many scales and is too fussy for me. The seller suggests they can supply different ones, so I might enquire . The plastic case is OK, but on mine the press stud closure does not work very well. That's not a big deal.

This is a great magnified with excellent illumination. My only issue is that the focus adjustment doesn't extend beyond the reticule so I often have to remove the clear section. Ps don't loom the wrong way through it, those leds are super bright

This is a superb loup! Really clear and bright and well constructed. My only criticism is that when the scale glass is removed it is just a simple piece of glass - it would be better if this had some surround that allowed it to be easily taken out and subsequently replaced. But a great product and well worth the money.

At first touch this is a sturdy piece of kit, metal and glass, not plastic. It also has a protective lens cover, comes in a leather pouch. I bought it as a replacement for an earlier purchase of a cheaper one & immediately sent it back….cheap plastic. This one has a focusing ring, an interior ring of lights and a set of measuring grids on the focal plane (I didn't need these but I expect they'll be useful). All in all, you get what you pay for, if you buy 'cheap as chips' don't expect quality. This is well worth the money.

Not bad glass - I use it for coins and geology/minerals. Cheap enough to have it out and about and handle with dirty hands - good enough to see everything I need to see :) Bottom part has translucent walls - permitting the passage of light, so external side light source can be used when necessary to observe relief of the object casting shadows. Its not "PRO" by any means - but close enough at this price but compared with pro 10x magnification loupes - this one is defo not 10x. Maybe like 5x ? Hence 3 stars.

Fantastic inexpensive alternative to a dermascope. Probably the best home dermascope on the market. Bought this to inspect a dark spot on my shin after seeing many skin check videos on unassuming lesions which kept turning out to be melanoma. So looked up the cost of a Dermlite DL5 (Pro tool) which is near £1500 so no chance I'm paying that. After doing some research, I found out that dermascopes or typically 10X, have LEDs obviously, polarised light to see deeper etc. This loup is very useful to give you an idea which may convince you to visit a dermatologist for expert opinion with expensive tools like dermlite. Great build quality - The lens section is in a coated aluminium housing The glass is seemlingly optically perfect and has good weight to it. It is probably of triplet design. When comparing the dermlite DL5, we obviously cant do do liquid contact with this and the focal length is 25mm at 10X not 32mm. The leds light is obviously not polarised so there is no switching between polarisation, cross polarisation, etc. Bought the battery version as I know from experience cheap rechargeable devices have garbage electronics and cheap rechargable battery technology as they never last. Or fail to charge after so many cycles. The LEDs really makes the difference. Without it you cant see any subsurface structures. My only change (as an electronic design engineer) would be the replace the smd leds with higher quality colour index (CRI) 0603 or 0805 LEDs, from ams Osram, CreeLED, etc to get a more natural colour as they are a little 'blue' but that just my nit picking perfectionist opinion and it is totally fine as is.

This is a good quality item , The L E D s give you a exellent view of your subject, Bit pricey but you only get what you pay for, If you need something like this this is the one to go for.

Lupa de ampliación variable, con muy buena iluminación, para cualquier uso. En mi caso, principalmente para revisar negativos y diapositivas, aunque puede utilizarse para muchas otras cosas. Con una construcción muy cuidada, lupa de cristal, un giro del ocular con una dureza significativa pero muy correcta para encontrar la ampliación necesaria y para que se mantenga ahí. El precio también es muy correcto teniendo en cuenta su calidad.

Un prodotto ben realizzato e con ottimi materiali. La visione é ampia e nitida, bisogna mettere la base a contatto con il soggetto da osservare e avvicinando l'occhio alla parte centrale della lente ed il campo visivo é ampio e senza distosioni o aberrazioni. Molto comoda la possibilità di mettere a fuoco, ruotando la ghiera superiore, soprattutto per chi porta gli occhiali in modo da compensare le diottrie. Fornita con un elegante e pratico astuccio protettivo é corredata inoltre di un tappo coprilente. Illuminazione perfetta della quale non si può fare a meno in scarse condizioni di luminosità. Per chi si é lamentato della mancanza di istruzioni per la sostituzione delle batterie vi rimando alle immagini di presentazione del prodotto sulla pagina Amazon, li troverete la soluzione figurata. Una pecca però c'è! Se avrete la necessità di togliere il vetrino millimetrato con angoli, spessori, diametri ecc. ( di cui ho verificato le misure e sono risultate perfette ) prestate la massima attenzione se non volete romperlo subito. A me è caduto a terra ma fortunatamente senza conseguenze! Posizionatevi su un piano poiché, come togliete la ghiera inferiore, il vetrino scivola fuori in quanto non solidale con la ghiera stessa e ci vorrà un po' di pazienza per ritrovargli il giusto lato di lettura ed il posizionamento oltre a doverlo ripulire accuratamente. Peccato per questa problematica che poteva essere risolta semplicemente con un collante. Non me la sono sentita di togliere però una stella poiché nonostante quanto detto sopra l'oggetto é veramente bello e funzionale... Imballo perfetto, confezione integra e sigillata, tempi di consegna rispettati come sempre!
