Everbuild LJUN05 Triple Action (Kills, Protects and Preserves) Wood Treatment, Clear, 5 Litre

When I've been inspecting my new property, I've spotted a little bit of historical activity in some of the loft timbers so I decided to give it all a proper treatment. I've used this before in my other house and it seems really good. Very easy to apply. It doesn't smell particularly bad and it goes away after a day or so. Quite a big old place, so I'll probably need a couple more tins when I take the floors up. The price of this fluctuates quite a bit, so it might be advisable to keep an eye on it, plan ahead and buy when it's cheap.

I used this to treat the whole interior of a 9x6 timber shed , it's really thin , it's like painting with watered down milk , it's quite hard to see where it's been applied as its clear , but I found it easy to use and it doesn't smell really strong , just a slight odour, not a bad one. I could feel a slight difference in texture to the wood once it was applied, so hopefully this will give my new shed a better chance of staying mould free, less chance of rot and hopefully the timber used on the inside of the shed will benefit from the coating I've given it with this wood treatment. I was just a little short to complete the entire interior of the 9x6 shed but I did apply generously and I'm happy with the overall quality, it's good that it can be used on interior and outdoor timber for added protection against fungi, mould, insects and rot , definitely worth treatment a shed with this to help prolong the life of the shed. It does drip off the brush a lot as it's thin like water , but it didn't matter too much as I was treating the whole interior anyway , I'd have to be more careful using outside not to waste it with it dripping off the brush.

Arrived on time simple to apply would buy again.

Doesn’t stink the house out like a certain other well known brand beginning with R and ending with seal. Seems pretty good value. I’ve used it before and as far as I can tell it works. The low odour aspect is really important when spraying in the loft. I’m about to order some more.

Applied to an outhouse beam that has recently got white staining from condensation from a new metal roof. I won’t go into detail about the works needed to get to the beams as this would turn into war and peace. Needless to say once the beams were exposed I followed the instructions by shaking the can and I applied this by using a 3” brush, you can use a sprayer but it was windy that day plus the fact I would have had to mask up and use eye protection so brushing it was. This went on extremely easy as the consistency is like water and the beams soaked this in quickly, I gave the affected areas three coats and so far weeks later the wood is still looking good without any white staining showing. Funny how you try to solve one ( getting rid of an old asbestos roof with a new metal one) and end up with other issues but that is life in general.

During the summer I planned a long awaited DIY project to remove moss off a cedar shingle roof. I thought it was going to take 3 weeks but eventually took 10 weeks and a day minus 4 days of rain and minus the two afternoons of the hottest days on UK climate records. Initially I was taken in by sales blurb that moss killer was going to be magic. No it wasn’t. Eventually the following process was arrived at but prior to that have to have multiple tool & broom heads attached to 7m :- Brush the roof with broom with rubber bristles. (this wasn’t the stiffest bristles brush head I found but sufficient to dislodge much of the moss. Scrape and scratch the stubborn patches especially the gaps BETWEEN the shingles. Found it was impractical to use scrapper any wider than 6cm and the scratcher had to be about 2-3mm. This was because wooden shingles are not like times, they are not totally flat in the first place such that weathering make then curl up to U shape and shrink over time leaving gaps for moss to hide in. Spray Moss-Go Moss Killer, section by section. Each section to wait a day to dry. Come back to section to scrub with very, very, stiff bristle, e.g. Draper 17190 or if that doesn’t work a Draper 17189 steel wire brush. Ensure all moss and dust brushed off after scrubbing. Spray Everbuild Triple Action Wood Treatment. Wait a day to dry. Spray Roxil Wood Protection Liquid. Roxil recommends two coats but with the project exceeded so many weeks late, I didn’t have time to go around the house again to spray. The design of the house, garage, awning has large roof area and to reach them all requires about 12 to 14 moves to relocate the scaffold tower so each spray coating (of any of the 3 chemicals) required best part of a week, depended on rain and winds. Conclusion = Moss Killer alone not enough, a lot of elbow grease was a pre & post requisite. After application and scrub processes, there was a big difference to how the roof looked but didn’t totally look clean until after the application of wood treatment stage. However, to skip out the moss killer stage could have been possible but Moss-Go cost a fraction of subsequent treatments. I used it at strongest recommendations mixture of 1 part Moss-Go + 5 parts water. (Subsequent treatments had to be used neat, no mixing with water = expensive but did kill off remaining moss remnants and …. still need final scrub & scratch for the very stubborn moss hiding in gaps and corners). Update. If you are thinking of buying this online, maybe better to buy 2 or 4 cans at the same time. That's what I usually do and they arrived fine. However, Spring 2026 I only ordered 1 because I had several cans left over from last year and it arrived battered and bruised. Please see photo. Good job nothing spilt during transit. However, with the numerous dents I bet I shall loose some of the expensive treatment content when I open it - the dents would have caused pressure build up due to the can's deformed dimensions, i.e. no longer the volume it was when it left the production line.
