My son recently started clarinet lessons and these particular reeds were recommended by his music teacher. On comparing to others they were very competitively priced I felt and ordered a couple of packs - one for my husband to use and help my son along. Within two weeks one of the reeds has split - the ones my husband are using are fine so I'm wondering if my 9 year old has perhaps been a little heavy handed with it. On the whole though they seem very good quality and better than the one the school provided for him to use.

I received these really quickly with my Amazon prime, handy as nowhere in my town sells these and when you need them you need them! I have used Rico reeds with my saxophone. I tried various other brands but it was definitely the Rico ones I preferred and seemed to get on with better. I have been struggling to get on with a clarinet which is new to me, and then I thought I'd try some Rico reeds rather than the other brand that were supplied with it. I instantly found that I preferred them as easier to play. All the Rico reeds I have bought have been good quality and I will continue to use this brand.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Wonderful

I bought these Reeds for my daughter to use at school and they appeared to be priced quite competitively. Although the ones that she has used produce a good sound I do feel as though the quality of the Reeds could be a little better. My daughter informs me that some of the Reeds do not work as well as others as her teacher will tell her to throw the inferior Reed away and try another one. Once a good one is found it appears to wear well and last quite a while before it needs changing again. She still has 5 of the Reeds left and is currently using the 3rd Reed, 2 of which she has been advised to throw away. They are also very delicate so care needs to be taken with them when handling them because if they become damaged they will not be any good to use. They are probably not as good value as I original thought because if half of the other reeds left need to be thrown away then it has cost roughly £3.00 each reed and they are only a little piece of wood.

Las cañas me han gustado mucho. Usar cañas blandas del 1.5 es una idea excelente, pues a veces no tiene uno fuerza o ganas de esforzarse y gusta tocar de un modo más cómodo. Hay quien desprecia las cañas blandas como cosa de principiantes, pero hay momentos en que son lo mejor, especialmente si vas a ensayar en casa.

Playable if you know how to trim and file the reeds (they seldom sound good out-of-the-box).

I bought these for my 10 year old son that will be starting band in September. I first bought the 2.5 and he could not play, so I order 1.5 and then he had awesome tune.

Anches pour clarinette sib force 1,5 résultat 2 anches sur 3 sont très bien alors qu'une seule est moins bonne. J'ai voulu tester une anche moins forte et celle-ci m'a permis d'utiliser mon bec vandoren dans lequel je n'arrivais pas à produire de son avec une anche force 2. Cependant si j'utilise le bec d'origine de ma clarinette, là ça fonctionne moins bien car le Do medium est faut.
