Hello - I have been using this product for six months or so now and find I can do both - if I am short of time I rinse it out but usually dry my hair a bit and then comb through as mall amount and leave it to dry in. This gives my hair some shape and body and does not look greasy. This lasts me about a week before I need to wash it again and avoids putting conditioner on my scalp.
