First Impressions
Keep in mind, I am not a machinist or a fine wood worker. However, I routinely need to make accurate pencil-mark measurements, and nothing in my shop was cutting it. I've just received the Incra T-Rule, and I'm already happy with the purchase. I've spot-checked the measurements with calipers, and they're very accurate. The right angle may not be perfect, but it's certainly better than any of the other four squaring devices I own. I have no question this will work well for my purposes. That being said, consumers should know, this is not the all-singing-all-dancing second coming of measuring devices. Here are some limitations worth noting: * If you are looking straight at the ruler, it is nice and rigid along the x and y axises. However, it very flexible along the z axis. This can be a benefit under the right circumstances, and won't be an issue on relatively flat boards. Still, if you require a stiff ruler throughout, shop elsewhere. Furthermore, be prepared to treat and store this device a bit delicately. * Down to 1/32" measurements should be fine, but 1/64 accuracy, although featured on the ruler, likely will not work well. At this fine a measure, a spec of dust or the pencil could throw off the measurement. If you consistently need to measure at this level of precision, you might need to spend money on some Swiss precision stuff. * Although a great right angle, Incra makes no claims as to how good a right angle it is. So, probably best not to think of this as a perfect square. * The writing is, by necessity, very small. If you need reading glasses, you'll need them now. * You can only make tick marks with a 5mm mechanical pencil. Not much of anything else will work. So, if you don't have one, get one. * This device will make better measurements - not faster ones. It's still best to move slowly and measure twice. Still, a great product. It'll do what it promises.

Smooth and handy
I recently purchased the INCRA T-RULE06 6-Inch Precision Marking T-Rule and have been blown away by its accuracy and ease of use. The markings are incredibly precise, and the ruler is sturdy and well-made. I love the T-rule design, which makes it easy to mark both straight lines and angles with perfect accuracy. This ruler has become an essential tool in my woodworking projects, and I can't imagine working without it now. Overall, I highly recommend the INCRA T-RULE06 to anyone who values precision and efficiency in their work. It's an investment that will pay off in spades.

Accurate, Easy to Use, and Worth It
I am really impressed with the T6 inch version. It was easy to figure out right away and feels very smooth to use. The accuracy is excellent and I can trust the results every time. It is lightweight, comfortable in the hand, and has quickly become one of my favorite tools. I honestly love this thing and would recommend it to anyone looking for something reliable and easy to use.

Nice tool but FLIMSY
Whoa doctor. This is a very handy tool. But dang, the ruler appears to be very sturdy in the pictures on Amazon. When you get it home, whoa. Is it flimsy. Now it can’t be 1/8 steel, as the thickness would impact the accuracy of the measurements. You need thin metal. But it’s slightly thicker and more durable than a sheet of tinfoil (with only mild exaggeration). I love the tool, though. It is well made and will provide years of accurate measurements in the wood shop. You will need a mechanical pencil to mark the measurements, and as such, this is for finished wood (not that you would want to use it for rough stock). Buy with confidence, but make sure you have a place to store, as this is a delicate tool. You could easily damage the rule. If this was at all helpful, please hit the button.

Perfect - if you understand what it's for.
Ordered the INCRA T-RULE06 6-Inch and the INCRA TINYT03 3-inch precision T-rule and am very impressed with both INCRA products. The precision and costruction are superb. My only request would be the inclusion of a rigid storage case. These are not something you just toss into your toolbox. But with proper care, they will last a long time. Most of the complaints I've read seem to center around the "tiny holes" and "flimsy" material. Both are necessary to preserve the precision of the instrument. You just can't accurately mark a 1/32nd increment using a standard #2 lead pencil thru a deep hole. Using a (required) 0.5 mm mechanical pencil, you can mark 2 lines 1/32nd apart and still see them as individual lines! This is incredibly difficult using a standard pencil no matter how "sharp" it is. Out of curiosity, I measured the thickness of the ruler at 0.010" using a Starrett micrometer. The ruler will never lie "perfectly flat" on its own, and it doesn't matter! In use, your fingers and the pencil will easily keep it "flat" against the work surface. Another common compaint seems to be the small writing on the ruler. There is a LOT of information being presented on the ruler, and it is very clearly ENGRAVED. Yes, it's small, and I must use my reading glasses to insert the pencil into the correct hole. But the text is all necessary and probably as big as it can be and still fit in the available space. I'm getting to be a bit old, so I don't blame the instrument - I blame my eyes. Being an "intermediate" level woodworker, my skills don't yet allow me to work to the level of precision possible with this instrument. With this ruler, I can now mark 2 perfectly parallel lines at a precise location. But for me, actually making an accurate cut along those lines - well, I'm still working on that! Overall, I'm quite impressed with the Incra T-rules and would definitely buy them again.

Incra has gained a new loyal customer
I love this T rule. Basically say goodbye to the difficulty of making perfect lines at the exact measurement you want. What took at least 3 steps (without considering error) [whoa...deja vu... weird...] ...uh, oh yea- what took 3 steps now takes 1. It's sturdy and well made, you can tell by looking at it that it's not a cheap product, which these days is such a satisfying feeling. Put your pencil (works with mechanical pencils best imo) at your precise measurement and from there you can achieve a very close to perfect line. What most manufacturers would make plastic or pvc or some other cheap material, Incra chose to make good quality aluminum (i'm referring to the base not the actual attached rule) with a finish that doesn't seem like the typical scratchable paint other manufac's would use. There's always a shortcoming or catch isn't there. Well I can assure you this tool doesn't fall into that statistic. The only thing i can say as a warning would be that this is a tool you should dedicate a drawer or cabinet shelf to, I wouldn't recommend hanging it or having it placed precariously on the bench all the time. The rule is made of steel that isn't perfectly rigid, so treat it with care if you buy it. Incra will be the go to company for me from now on whenever i'm in the market for measuring tools!

Didn't Expect A Precision Rule To Be So Flimsy And Warped
Incra has a great reputation in the woodworking community for manufacturing high quality tools and accessories, so when I was looking for a marking rule, I didn't hesitate to consider the products they had on offer. I really only needed a tool for marking up to about an inch in from the edges of my workpieces, so I considered the 3" marking rule initially, but decided on the 6" version to "future proof" my investment a bit. PROs: When the rule arrived, I was happy to see that the assembly hardware that came with the unit worked perfectly fine, unlike the experiences of some other reviewers. The slots/holes in the rule appear to be precisely and consistently cut, and my 0.5mm Pentel mechanical pencil lead fits perfectly in the holes. CONs: The biggest drawback I see is that the steel used for the rule is (a) too flimsy, and (b) not remotely flat. The fact that the rule is flimsy would be forgivable, if it were flat, but this rule has a permanent curve in it. In the attached image, you can see how the rule has a curve (the image shows the bottom of the rule against a straightedge). Additionally, the curve on the piece I received is concave facing outward (away) from the workpiece. At least if it were curved concave facing downward, I could just press down in the center to flatten the entire rule against my workpiece. In my opinion, Incra could address both of these issues by using a thicker gauge steel for this product. A precision rule shouldn't have issues like this. I might try the 3" version, as any warpage might be less pronounced over a shorter distance. Otherwise, I will make do with this unit, grumbling every time I use it. I will avoid the 12" or larger versions.

Bueno
Muy bueno para mediciones precisas. Se siente un poco delicado. Me gustaría que hubiera una versión en sistema métrico

Excellent rule! Precise and great quality!
Excellent rule! Very precise! I recommend it to every woodworker! I do have very large experience in drafting and used to hold lots of drafting tools of various brands in my hands, but I did not met any such precise and convenient rule as this one. Excellent quality. Incra is great! By the way, I would also recommend Incra Bend rules - they are also excellent rules - precise and handy for every woodworker. I'm very happy to have them all in various sizes

Precision marking tool
A very precise way of marking out on wood. Well made and as far as I know a unique item of a tool. It did take a substantial amount of time for delivery but this was flagged up at the order stage and did arrive as stated.
