With a nasty attack of bursitis to deal with, and no frozen peas available to use as an ice pack, I looked through the many options available online. Several reviewers of alternative products (including one from the same company) commented that wrapping the band securely around the elbow and pack was nearly impossible without someone to help. I was delighted when I came across this product, one of the key features of which is the loop to pass the strap through. This enables the user to pull back on the strap to bend the pack around the elbow, and tighten to the desired compression. This was the only product I saw with such a feature, and it makes strapping the pack in place so much easier. True, it was a bit fiddly to insert the frozen pack into the cover, especially as the surface frosts over when newly out of the freezer, but this may be due to the newness of the cover - it seems to be getting a bit easier each time (or I'm getting better at inserting it!). The margins of the gel pack are a decent width, and should withstand normal use. The pack itself is reasonably flexible when frozen according to the instructions included (it's stiff if frozen for more than 2 hours, but 5 minutes outside the freezer cures that), and certainly stays cold long enough for a normal session of treatment. I haven't tried heating it as I have alternatives for that side of treatment. All in all, it's everything I needed.

Straight out of the box, and into the freezer. Cools in a couple of hours, and slides easily into the sleeve which is easy to wrap around my elbow. Not yet used it for putting heat into the joint. But certainly effective in applying cold, and reducing inflammation and soreness.

I rely on the reviews quite heavily before buying something and always look at the poor reviews as well as the 4 and 5* ones before deciding whether to buy or not. Often some of the reviews at both ends of the spectrum make me raise an eyebrow in disbelief - for example: a couple of days ago I read a review that awarded 4* even though the reviewer said they had not yet tried the product but it looked good! When I read some of the reviews for this gel pack a couple said that the strap was too long and another said it was difficult to apply with one hand and both rated the product poorly as a result .... Utter disbelief on my part reading these reviews. Let me tell you that you don't have to fit this to your arm with only one hand unless you only have one hand. Here is how I suggest you use it from the freezer: 1) remove from the freezer and leave it at room temperature for a few minutes until it becomes pliable. 2) Insert the cold gel pack into its sleeve. 3). Bend the gel pack to form a circular shape leaving approximately width of your arm as a hole in the middle thenwrap the strap around it and secure it with the Velcro. If the strap goes around it twice so be it. 4) Slide your arm through the hole you've left in the centre you you are done! If the tension is too slack or too tight, slide it off again, make an adjustment and refit it. Not exsctly rocket science is it! As for the strap being too long and the product being poorly rated because of it, again I don't agree because this gel pack is good for use on your leg or neck and not just your elbow so that is where the extra length is really helpful. This is a really good product that works well and stays cool enough for long enough to suit its intended purpose and reviews that say otherwise should in my view be taken with more than just a pinch of salt - you should not have a freezer cold compress in place for hours and this stays plenty cold to do the job. I am most happy with it!

This was really helpful for my husbands elbow after being diagnosed with bursitis. He was advised to use frozen peas which we decided to invest in this elbow support. I would recommend it is good quality and is a reasonable price compared to the cost of bags of peas as the bursitis is going to be an on going problem.

Exactly what I was looking for, it doesn't stay hot for very long though so I may have to replace the gel pack, but other than that its perfect, fits well and stays in place on my elbow. I play far too much nintendo switch and it causes pain in my right elbow, so this is a nice relief - I prefer heat relief to ice pack but may well try the ice to see if that lasts longer :) Very happy with the product

Quality materials.

I have just had elbow surgery and was struggling with icing. I tried both an ice pack and then a small pack of frozen peas wrapped in a t-towel but found it extremely difficult to keep it in place for the required 20 minuted. I saw my physio for the first time and told her the problem and she suggested I bought an ice pack and wrap. I have used this for 2 days and am delighted. It is easy to set up with the included ice pack and it stays in place so I can walk around instead of sitting and holding an ice pack on my elbow. The strap stretches so it would be suitable for other areas of the body.

I use mine so much I'm thinking the Velcro will wear out. You can wash it easily. Molds well, wraps all the way around all the joints on which I use it. One side is colder than the other side if you use it over and over before putting back in the freezer. One of my favorite purchases since I have a very physical job. January 2024--YEP! The Velcro wore out!!! ;~)

Soffrendo di epicondilite mi è molto comodo perché posso tenere il ghiaccio sul gomito senza dover necessariamente star ferma e tenerlo in posa con la mano. Che è il motivo principale per cui l'ho acquistato. Fa il suo dovere in maniera eccellente per poterlo utilizzare già qualche minuto dopo averlo estratto dal freezer io l'ho congelato direttamente incurvato. Ottimo acquisto lo consiglio!

Durch die Anwendungsmöglichkeit, war man weiter beweglich. Nach 3x täglicher Anwendung schon nach zwei Tagen deutlicher Rückgang der Schwellung! Super!!!
