if you need a certain colour you need a certain colour, and dmc are the most popular and best threads around by far. The price from the seller was great, and as P&P was included just wasn't worth driving to hobbycraft to save 50p on just one skien, so i'll use the vendor again when needed

Great colour, speedy delivery

I have done most of my samplers and other projects-wedding and birth samplers using DMC floss. It works well. I have used silk for a sampler and liked it, too-but it is more costly if that is not in your budget. My dining room wall has 13 samplers on it. I have at least one sampler in every room. And I get compliments. My PCP asked what was on the wall he could see in our videovisit. So, x-stitching is great, samplers have been around for centuries, We used to live in Maine and I saw a presentation of antique samplers at Strawberry Bank.NH. Christmas ornaments that I did in the 80;s with DMC have held up well. DMC has a chart showing their colors which may be helpful if you are designing yourself, Good luck with your next project.
