Simple fun game with good replay value
This game comes out regularly when we are in a group of friends. We have mixed this with the standard Codenames version and it simply adds some additional content. I find some of the words a bit juvenile but it does add a light heartedness to the game that can work well in a group who are looking to relax. The game is very easy to pick up, it can be played as a standalone or with the original and you get good replay value from it.

Great game for a night in eith your mates. Super funny!
Hilarious game! If you have a good group of mates to play it with, it's up there with cards against humanity.

Wink wink, nudge nudge!
I love Codenames, but in honesty I prefer the original. The adult theme means that the word range is pretty narrow so it’s hard to come up with creative clues that don’t boil down to shagging (hur hur!). Fun for the first 5 mins but it gets boring pretty quickly. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I find the original more absurd & interesting

Englische Version

Quick and Light game perfect for the more adult crowd.
Lets start with a quick summary of the game. There is a 5x5 grid of words on the table. The game is played with 2 teams. One person per team is the clue giver, the rest of the team guess. The clue givers have a map that shows a 5x5 grid with blue and red boxes, and one black box. The blue team wants to give clues to make their team guess all the blue words, but not the other words. The Red obviously wants to guess Red. If at anypoint someone guesses the black box, they lose immediately. The round ends when one team guesses all of their words, or the black box is guessed. The clue giver can only give one word clues, followed up by a number. This number indicates how many words the clue corresponds to. The guessers can guess one word at a time. If they are correct, they cover up the word with the marker of their team and can keep guessing. If they guess wrong, they stop immediately and if you guess your opponents color, they get to mark it off the board. and you stop immediately. Your guessers can guess 1 more guess bigger than the number your clue giver said. So if I said "Food, 3" and you guessed 3 correct food items. You could think back to a clue I gave earlier, and if you got it incorrect, take another guess at it.Played this game and the original Codenames several times with several different groups. Pretty much every single time the people playing have said they loved the game. It's quick to setup, easy to teach and surprisingly gets you thinking in some really interesting ways. Trying to figure out that perfect clue to link "rectum" with "clam" can really lead you down some dark paths. As for this game being "adult only" the words are generally geared towards sex or drugs/drinking, but nothing really in here that's going to offend anyone like in Cards Against Humanity. We made a variation of this where we play with 3 teams. Of the 5x5 grid, there's one color with 9 and one color with 8. The color with 9 gets to go first. For playing with 3 teams, what we did was the other 8 squares (including the insta loss black square) become the 3rd team. So now there's 3 teams, the team with 9 still goes first and the game plays as normal. We found this more fun than doing 2 teams with 3 people, as each person got to guess or give a clue without feeling like they were a 3rd wheel.

Good times!
It's a little different than most other games out there (in a good way) so there's a small learning phase, but once you grasp the concept it's really pretty simple. We really liked the original version of Codenames and this adds another level of fun when playing with an adult crowd. I wouldn't play it with kids, but it's really not that "dirty". On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being a kids game and 10 being Cards Against Humanity, I'd rate this a 6 or 7. Just as with other adult games, how raunchy it gets depends a bit on the twisted minds of the people playing the game! ;)
