Highly recommend effective product
I didn't bother with a strand test as don't tend to react much to product ingredients. I had used conditioner previously but it didnt seem to make any difference to the product bonding to the hair. I mixed it up in a yogurt pot and applied it to parted hair with a long handled teaspoon. Easy to do. Massaged it in and then sat for two hours with the shower cap covering it. Rinsing in the shower took a while. It needed LOTS of rinsing but the splashes did not stain. Everything wiped clean very easily. I chose chestnut. There were no orange patches as I feared might happen. No streaks. Just an even colour all over. Smells a bit like a barn full of old straw. Not great. But end result is very good and I will now only use this natural prodect. I only used one sachet as I have short hair so for me it is cheaper than using the naturtint I used before. I highly recommend.

Gorgeous Natural Chestnut Colour, Covered Greys, Conditioned and Thickened Fragile Hair,
This is an excellent product. I loved the chestnut colour which I left on for three hours to ensure the depth, as per the guidelines. It covered my greys and they turned a lighter version of chestnut, which enhanced the look. I have very fine mid-shoulder length hair and only used half the packet. I am losing hair quite a lot, it is porous, and I wanted a more natural way to colour my hair with a rich colour that would cover greys. My hair was getting to be in terrible condition despite using non chemical natural products...it was previously becoming like straw. After using this product my hair has become softer again, and slightly thicker. Of course, it will depend on your individual hair and previous chemical/natural colours but I was prepared to take the risk and as I can't risk chemically dying my fragile hair. If the colour hadn't been good, I would just not use it again. I was delighted with the end result! It certainly hasn't harmed my fragile hair. It feels softer, and thicker. The photos featured on Amazon by other customers are true to life. There was more than ample coverage, so a packet did twice the job for me. Was it messy? I didn't find it any more messy than normal hair colours. I used black clothing and a towel and kept an eye out for drips while I applied it in the bathroom. I rinsed any drips as I saw them and there was no staining. The instructions are easy to follow. Put on DRY CLEAN HAIR. Some blogs mention adding oils, yoghurt, egg to henna hair colour mixtures, it is worth researching to see what may enhance the colour and condition further. The smell didn't bother me anymore than the smell of cut grass. The colour has stayed on for 6 weeks so far. I may enrich it soon just to lift it back to a deeper warm chestnut, but it has faded in a flattering way, WITHOUT the 'orange hair' look. I have just ordered three more packets as I think the product is brilliant and I am delighted I have found an easy alternative that may enhance my fragile hair condition further over time, and certainly, not cause it to become damaged in the process of wanting to enrich the colour and cover the grey patches.

IT WORKS, BUT NOT ALWAYS PREDICTABLY
It's better than chemicals which harm but not quite perfect. It can oxidise on the hair in different ways, so you may have a two toned, badger look - you may have to get inventive with an auburn top and coppery sides. However, it does cover grey well and is a LOT less messy than other henna products. Your head will smell like freshly mown hay for a couple of washes but this is a small price to pay for looking less old lady. I used the best organic coconut oil (just a 20p piece, melted between the palms and patted onto damp hair) to condition the hair because it did not turn out as untangled as I had expected. The product rinsed out quite well, with no bathroom stains. Overall, so far the best of the healthier colour options and while it says 'chestnut', it's really more red than brown. PS Since writing this review, I add about 20 drops of cedarwood oil to the mixture and the hay smell is no more! I also mix the henna with hot water and keep that bowl of hot water above another bowl of hot water, so the mixture stays warm without being too hot, of course. I wrap cling film around my head for three hours and am usually pleased with the result. Anothe tip is that I only use half the packet at a time, and I will add about a heaped tablespoonful of indigo to the mix to make it less coppery. It's trial and error and batches of henna may work differently, so it is not an art I can say I have yet perfected but since using organic henna I feel less threatened by chemically colouring products.

Fantastic replacement for chemical hair dye
So glad I found this product as traditional chemical dyes were destroying my hair despite going to a high-end salon. Benefits include: -Beautiful shine -Improvement in hair's health - growing better and no longer falling out from chemical colouring every six weeks -Cheap - one box lasts me 6 months (I have thin, above-shoulder hair) -Acts as a masque for your hair - cleanses it, treats it, feels fab after -Improves texture - gives my hair way more volume -Gorgeous colour (I use Chestnut which is brown w/ reddish undertones) Can't say enough about it. Only niggle is the Chestnut colour I use leaves my grey patch at the front a touch brassy. I might need to incoporate a different colour for that one spot. Also the smell is earthy, but that makes sense considering the organicness of the product. My hair loves it.

Absolutely amazing results – perfect grey coverage
I’m really impressed with this hair dye ☺️ it’s absolutely fantastic. I previously used a much more expensive henna product, but I actually feel this one covered my hair even better. I left it on for three hours to achieve a chestnut shade, and the result was perfect. All of my grey hairs were completely and beautifully covered. It’s truly an outstanding product. Another big plus is that my hair doesn’t feel as dry as it did after using my previous well-known, more expensive henna brand. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the results and would definitely recommend it.

Amazing for people with allergies
Easy to use, 1 pack is enough for 2 applications, left my hair very soft and healthier looking. The only hair dye I’ve not been allergic to. I will keep using this :) much better than the blonde which was an expensive hairdresser trip and left my hair dry.

Brilliant, great value for money and great results.
Love this hair dye. I have only ever had my hair dyed at a salon but didn't like the money it cost, the chemicals or the idea that it might have been tested on animals. I have very dark brown hair that is peppered lightly with grey and is jaw length. I only use a third of a pack each time and leave it on for 3 hours. I was worried about the mess etc but it's easy to use and so much cheaper than a salon, in actual fact I prefer the colour to the salon results, much more natural. I have used Dark Brown but found it too dark, then I tried Chestnut which had a lovely warm subtle red effect but after a couple of washes my grey hair went a bit orange so I mixed Chestnut and Natural brown half and half which I really liked. I read a suggestion somewhere not to shampoo my hair, just rinse with water after applying the dye but I tried this and it left too much dye residue in my hair which was a bit itchy and the smell of the dye is quite strong (like strong green tea) so I prefer to shampoo it out and it still lasts very well.

Great hair dye
Really great hair dye. I've been having consistent and lasting results. The product is being improved all the time, it comes in two sachets now and the gloves are better quality
