The Book of Mormon: Sheet Music from the Broadway

This product contains all the sheet music from the musical Book of Mormon, by the writers and creators of South Park, so do not expect a serious musical about Mormonism. The lyrics are witty and fun in every song, and if you are a fan of South Park I can't imagine any reason why you would not like this musical The sheet music has a nice size print and as well as the sheet music contains pictures from the Broadway cast. With the opening of this musical on the West End only a few days away it is nice to learn the music before it hits the stage in the UK.

A really satisfying and faithful adaptation of all the musical numbers for piano and vocal (with chords for guitar etc.). The keys are the same as the official CD version, making it a score for intermediate players at a minimum, but the result is a fun book that is true to the original.

This has to be one of the best musicals if not the best musical ever. The songs are catchy although the accompnament needs some practice and cannot be just played on the spot. My only criticism is i wish there was more accompnament for "Hello" but i guess there isnt much accompnament in the actual musical. Can't wait to see it.

Excellent quality book which has been lovingly put together. 8 pages of glossy photos of the Broadway show, the score which is big and clear with lyrics interspersed with black and white photos of the show. 208 pages long so much thicker than I originally thought. Can't recommend enough if you love the show like I do.

I was delighted to have the score of this amazing show. All the other reviewers have said it all: so I won't waste space repeating it! Can't wait to see the show in March 2012 in London.

Good arrangements of the songs from the show. Even includes the sung harmonies (multiple vocal lines).Fairly thick book, so won't lay flat without seriously creasing the spine.

Loved loved loved the show! Have lots of am dram friends, so to have the book means we can all gather round and have a good old sing song. Can't wait!

I went to see the musical with my boyfriend and we both loved it. I thought it would be an inspired gift therefore to get him the piano music for his birthday, as he enjoys playing songs from the shows he's seen. Unfortunately, a lot of this music is better enjoyed on the stage than played at home. The book doesn't often get looked at, and there are only a couple of songs he's interested in playing. I think the best thing about most of the songs are the naughty lyrics and the performance. Not really melodies that you can enjoy on their own without the rest of the context. Don't bother buying this, just go and watch the show again!

The media could not be loaded.  Haven’t got the chance to actually play any of the songs on piano yet but I have been using the vocal part and it’s brilliant! Definitely a great gift for any Book of Mormon fans!

Several notable things about this vocal selections book that sets it apart from most:1) It includes ALL the songs found on the cast album. Yes it makes for a larger, more expensive book, but I'd much rather pay extra for a more complete book than have someone else decide what the most popular songs are.2) The piano part is a real accompaniment, so you have the choice of accompanying a singer or adding a piano melody on your own for a solo performance.3) The arrangements are exactly the same as what's on the cast album. I haven't seen the show so I don't know if any cuts were made from the full score to create the cast recording, but usually that's inevitable unless it's a multi-CD set. Since this book matches the recording, it makes it easier to prepare a song for an audition or cabaret performance. I didn't check every song, but for the most part I believe they're also in the same keys. (As someone who has played numerous auditions, I've seen my share of singers who have only sung with a CD and never a live piano, and are surprised that the sheet music is 2 steps higher or lower than what they're familiar with.)3a) And yes, we really do want all those dance breaks and interludes from the cast recording in there, Mr. or Ms. Editor Person, so thank you. We can always make cuts on our own if necessary.All of these things, by the way, vastly reduce the incentive and desire to seek out bootleg photocopies and poorly-scanned PDFs of Broadway scores. Often it's not people wanting to put on unauthorized productions of shows, but simply wanting a copy of the sheet music that matches what they're used to hearing on the cast album. Good on Alfred Publishing for making this editorial decision -- other publishers should do the same!Probably my only other wish would be if this were made available with a spiral binding so we wouldn't need to mutilate the book to get the pages to sit flat, but I realize there are a host of logistical reasons why this is a pain for both printers and vendors since spiral-bound books aren't as easy to stock, and can more easily be damaged.Of course the content of the show and score itself is up to each one's personal preferences (I happen to enjoy it), but I felt the need to comment that as a book of musical vocal selections, this is an excellent example of how they should be done.

És una bomba! divertit, desenfadat, alegre, gamberro... La partitura d'aquest musical és ideal pel llibret i l'argument. Val moltíssim la pena, a veure quan podem veure l'espectacle al nostre país.
