Can you change the ends on these as I could with the one I had as a child?

I bought this as a gift and gave it away but from the briefness that I played with it, no, I don't believe you can change the ends, simply look through the eye hole and twist the other end and get lost in the myriad of changing colours/ images. Hope this helps.
