PenPower WorldCard Pro Business Card Scanner (Mac/Win) EU

I've used other products and wasn't impressed at all how the OCR programs failed to recognize the text on the business cards. This time using the Worldcard Pro was different. The hardware itself works fine and comes with a kind of transparent sheet adapter for thin business cards that are hard to scan - like the ones that you had to xerox copy from others. The OCR programs works differently by each language so if you're scanning a multi language business card, try changing the OCR setup and run the OCR again - you don't need to scan the card again. The other thing that I like is that the USB cable tucks in the rear of the case that addes to the compact size of the scanner.One bug that I have experienced and read from other's reviews is that sometimes it will not correctly recognize "l" close together. This is common among other scanners too but checking the scan results after each scan is encouraged.

This just didn't work for me. Seemed unintuitive, support was minimal, and in the end it just stopped working period. s. Perhaps I was being a bit thick, but I couldn't find how to import into my mail file. There was no call-centre so I emailed and got a useless response back. Also found that once you imported a card - you had to then do a search to edit it. Maybe these things are do-able, but I spent a lot of time trying.In the end after fairly minimal use, the USB stopped working but it was going back anyway. d I've just ordered an IRIS - hope that is better, will review as soon as I can try it.

decent enough. It gets most things right, and the interface is easy to use and make changes. It gives you a jpeg of the card as well. It would be useful if the file name of the jpeg was related to the contact in some way (they are just random number-letter strings)

What a piece of junk and a complete waste of maoney - do not buy!! I did a lot of research and this looked good so purchased but when I loaded the software it opened with a blank page, it appears the information is there if you click in random places but is not visable. The customer support is useless and just repeats the manual instructions without any useful additions. Deeply regret this purchase and Amazon should be ashamed selling it!!

Simple to set up and works immediately with Outlook 2013. However, very disappointing scan results. Try calibrating several times but the scanned images appeared washed out. This resulted in very poor recognition results. The device could not read any cards with a dark background. It struggled to correctly read any text less than ten point size. I would not recommend this unit.

Very high quality product. Would definitely recommend. However, don't expect miracles. The OCR ( recognition of the characters on business cards is nowhere near perfect - perhaps 60-65% accurate at best. Expect to do a LOT OF MANUAL EDITING to correct the scanning errors. And the scanner's tolerances are also loose - it has a tendency to scan the cards at an angle, which the the software somehow cannot/does not automatically correct. If there was a better alternative, I would go for it, but the reality is, it's probably one of the best of the current generation of business card scanners out there currently. Hence the 4 stars.

This works very well. We work with Japan and it reads everything on both sides. It is not perfect - it needs checking and some small corrections - but mostly excellent. The software is a bit 'clunky' - but overall good

Wir haben lange im Internet recherchiert um einen Visitenkartenscanner zu finden, der ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis UND einen leichte Benutzung hat! Wir sind froh und erleichtert, daß wir den WorldCard Pro gekauft haben! Der Scann funktioniert einwandfrei und die Übertragung in Outlook ebenfalls! Es ist eine enorme Erleichterung für das Sekretariat, da die Mitarbeiter nach der Rückkehr von Messebesuchen mit Unmengen von Visitenkarten kommen, die bis dato händisch eingegeben werden mussten! DAS gehört endlich der Vergangenheit an! Grüße aus Remscheid

Ero un po' frenato a comprare questo articolo a causa delle recensioni amazon ma non ha assolutamente deluso le mie aspettative.Gli unici contro sono che la fase di attivazione del software è un po' macchinosa e il software per lo la gestione dei biglietti può essere installato solo su un pc/mac.Da acquistare assolutamente!

Premier scanner reçu n'est pas reconnu par le port USB, téléchargement de pilote, rien n'y fait pas de connection. Retour Amazon.2 ème scanner commandé a fonctionné le temps de scanner 40 cartes puis s'est arrêté. Retour chez Amazon.3 ème scanner reçu l'emballage porte 2 étiquettes, compatible Windows 10 et New. Comme l'étiquette New a été collée sur une autre j'ai des doutes, je pense que c'est du reconditionné.Lui non plus n'est pas reconnu par l'ordinateur, pas de connection au port USB. Support technique du constructeur contacté. Pas de réponse. Retour Amazon.

Scanner portatile, leggero. Legge abbastanza bene i biglietti da visita con una dislocazione delle infromazioni standard e fatti con spessori e rugosità della carta standard. Se il biglietto è più spesso o sottile, il trascinamento ha grossi probelmi e bisogna fare diversi tentativi per riuscire a leggerlo. Se il biglietto da visita è più lungo del normale, la scansione si interrompe comunque, lasciando fuori una parte delle informazioni.Il software è abbastanza penoso e molto lacunoso. Con il 90 percento dei biglietti tocca ri-editare parte delle informazioni. La scelta della lingua da riconoscere non cambia un gran che (ha grossi problemi, per esempio, con gli apostrofi). Quando esegui una scansione, se è risucita male, non puoi semplicemente rifarla: devi comunque creare la nuova entry, cancellarla, e rifare la scansione.Per oltre 100 euro mi aspettavo molto di più
