Panty And Stocking With Garter Belt: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] [DVD]

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt has got to be my favourite anime. The show is about two angels who got kicked out of heaven for bad behaviour. The only way to return is to collect Heaven coins, which can only be accumulated by killing Ghosts.It's an hilarious, vulgar, bizarre and overall enjoyable show. It has a great stylized look mimicking American cartoons, which makes the show more enjoyable with the mixed styles. The mix of styles make for a fresh and unique anime.The humor is very vulgar, similar to the humor of Drawn Together, which was an influence for the show. The show also has one of the best soundtracks I have heard, which consist of Electronic and Dance songs.I was excited to hear a English DVD realise of this show for the UK. The DVD features two languages, a English Dub which from looking at previews, looks to be done really well and the original Japanese Dub. I think most fans are going to prefer the Japanese as opposed to the English as it features some great voices that stand out. The Japanese Dub will have some English speaking parts which make it even more hilarious. The DVD doesn't seem to include anything new feature apart from Outtakes. The special disc includes a collection of the 'Ghost' explosions (which is a re-occurring feature in the show) the OVA's (Mini-shorts) and textless opening and closing songs.I'd recommend this show to fans who like 'adult' cartoons such as Drawn Together or South Park who like rude and ridiculous jokes.

First and most importantly, the reported issues with the endings cutting off the last few episodes has been sorted, so you can all rest assured that you can enjoy your anime safe in the knowledge taht it won't cut out on you.The show itself was made by the same people as gurren lagann, and came up with it in the pub one night for a laugh. The end result is a beautiful blending of animation, humour, music and ridiculous action sequences.The characters are all VERY different, makin for great viewing, the voice acting is perfect, and you'll find yourself loving the characters in this anime before the first episode is even over. The show's plot, while originally non existant becomes more and more important, and actually holds together well, making for a genuinely exciting last few episodes, whic I was not expecting at all.Basically, this is the Marmite of anime, you'll love it, or you'll hate it. If you love foul language and bodily fluids, then this is the anime for you!

Words can barely describe the madness going on here. Fallen angels using their lingerie as gun and swords to fight evil ghosts is crazy enough and that's just the outline.It's filled with raunchy over-the-top humor, tons of references (like Ace Attorney and Ren and Stimpy, and that's only one episode) and some unexpectedly well made action scenes.Though it's an anime, it's kind of parodying western animation.The animation is good, the original voice acting well made and every character has his own, very distinctive voice, so from a technical standpoint, there's nothing to complain.Though it's only recommended for people who don't mind the raunchy humor and a good dose of randomness.Word's can only tell so much and the only way to really make sure Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is for you is to just watch it.It's definately something else.

Arrived on time and intact.This is quite a difficult show to describe. So I'll just a say, as others have said before me, if you like South Park you may well like this show. At its best its laugh out loud funny in a crudely rudely slapstick way.

This anime is absolutely amazing, and don't listen to the reviews that suggest it shouldn't be bought because it's missing the last seconds of the final episodes are missing: this issue has been since fixed by GAINAX, and all defective copies have been retired from the market. If you purchase it, it will be the fixed version for sure.As for the anime, it's the best series I've ever seen. The characters are fantastic and the dirty humor is used well, it never becomes excessive. I love Panty & Stocking, and being able to see their adventures in high quality isn't a chance that anyone should miss. Buy it, watch it, and you won't regret it!

The content:This is one of the best animes I've seen, it's genuinely funny and I can't believe it has taken me this long to discover it.Don't be put of by the name, it's not THAT kind of anime.The product:DVD worked as expected, seems to be new and genuine.Excellent, timely delivery.

I bought my copy from Speedyhen and it came very quickly. I was worried about ordering this particular DVD as previous copies have been faulty. But good news to everyone who wants to buy this product. This is the new version that isn't faulty and works perfectly.It is also a fantastic series. :D

For the price, I couldn't ask for a better show! It is definitely far more vulgar than I was led to believe... but since I have enjoyed other projects from Studio Trigger, I gave it chance, and I enjoyed it!For those wondering, the DIGITAL COPY still works as of April 2023 (I can't guarantee it still will once Crunchyroll sunsets Funimation).

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt takes place in Daten City, a city located between Heaven and Earth. The series follows the Anarchy Sisters, sex-obsessed Panty (Arisa Ogasawara) and sweets-loving goth girl Stocking (Mariya Ise), two angels that have been expelled from Heaven. Under the guidance of the perverted Reverend Garterbelt (Koji Ishii), they fight and destroy ghosts that are harassing Daten City to earn Heaven Coins with the goal of one day earning enough to buy their way back to Heaven.This series is primarily about the comedy and parody. Specifically, it is rare in that it is an anime heavily inspired by American animation rather than the kind of styles and content typically associated with more traditional Japanese anime. What we get is a hilarious send up of Western-style cartoons and humor.The art in this anime is fantastic and rather unique for an anime. As mentioned above, this is inspired by American animation such as the style made famous by cartoons such as The Powerpuff Girls. As such, there are a lot of high-paced scenes especially those involving battles and fighting. But the artwork and animation also contributes a lot to the series' humor as well with a ton of visual gags as part of its zany storytelling and premise.I also thought that the soundwork was excellent as well. This not only includes the music which, for a comedy series, is unexpectedly catchy and fun to listen to, but the voicework all around is great, too. In line with the humor of the show, the voice actors put in a lot of energy in their work. This is true for both the original Japanese and the English dub. Indeed, even for those that prefer subbed anime, the English dub is a must watch for fans. I want to especially highlight the work of Jamie Marchi as Panty and Monica Rial as Stocking, both of whom did a superb job. Supposedly, Gainax gave Funimation a lot of leeway to make the dub as raunchy and hilarious as possible and one can really tell that the English actors had a lot of fun with this.The story itself is really just a premise to allow for copious amounts of humor and parody. Just like with the animation style, the humor and writing takes a lot of inspiration from adult American animated shows, especially the crude and raunchy humor made famous by shows such as South Park and Drawn Together. As such, the show relies heavily on this type of humor with plenty of toilet humor, sex jokes, profanity, and just an all around sense of irreverence. I found that this type of humor to be absolutely hilarious that never takes itself seriously. It is a great show to watch just to get some laughs. Also, again as a result of its Western inspiration, the show contains many parodies and references to Western media. These run the gamut from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Ghostbusters, Transformers, among many others.This Blu-ray set includes all thirteen half-hour episodes with the option to watch in either Japanese or English. In addition, there are a couple of hours of bonus features including some making-of featurettes, promotional material, and a few shorts.All in all, I found this series to be very enjoyable and hilarious. While the immature sense of humor may not be for everyone, for those that like American-style adult cartoons looking for something that is not serious, you will probably enjoy this.
