How long are the pencils.

The pencils are 7 inches long, not including the rubber tip at one end.

How is the rubber as some cheaper pencils can have awful rubbers

To be honest they go a bit shiny after a few uses, leading to black smears. I bought a decent quality rubber which, whilst not ideal, solves the problem. The pencils write very well. I will purchase another box, despite the rubber issue.
