XY3 Third Generation Bluetooth Item Finder for iOS and Android - Spring 3-Pack

Ordered a pack of three of these as a Christmas gift. All the batteries inside were dead. Disappointed recipient of the gift and embarrassed buyer. When I buy replacement batteries, I hope these trackers work. Not feeling very confident about this product. I want to give zero stars here but the system won't allow no 🌟

Don't expect to find them in a large room. Only when you are less than 6 inches away will it register as "immediate", within a 30 foot radius it will only say "near". Since most rooms are smaller than a 30 foot radius, it is not that useful to find your keys (or whatever) inside the room. Would be nice if there were more graduations rather than just immediate, near and far. A signal strength meter would be much more useful.

Had to return. The geofencing feature that was the primary reason for purchase is not currently active under iOS, with no estimate on when it will be operational.

I switched to XY from Tile because even with discounted replacements every year it was too expensive and wasteful to simply discard or return my Tiles every year. Since the Tile came new finder devices have appeared on the market. For me the best of these was the XY3. With manay color options, a replaceable battery (which can be purchased very inexpensively), and the new options to warn you when a device gets out of range and to find your phone, the XY3 was very appealing. I ordered the three pack and had some initial setup problems due to a dead battery which XY support responded to very quickly with replacement batteries. So far they are working great.

The batteries constantly die and the tracker doesn't work half the time. On iOS it has to remain open in the background and I think it wears down my phone battery also. I've changed the battery in the tracker 3 times and I finally gave up and took it off my key ring when it would randomly start beeping and startle me.When it works, it does the job. Sadly, that's less often than not.

It works but is not loud enough. The divce works as described. My issue was I couldn't hear it when I was not in the same room. My house is a 1400 square foot ranch. The company did refund my purchase cost less a shipping fee.

Only one of the XY3 worked, most likely because the other 2 had bad batteries. I notified XY Find It and am waiting to see what they will do. The one that works is on my cat so I can watch he does not stray out of the back yard.

Don't buy it! Had to replace the battery in one of them the first day. Very poor at finding keys or the phone. I'm gonna try a Tile next

I was hoping I would be able to use one of these to find my car in a parking lot (as reviewers claim) but I can only see a spot on the map that is very broad (I already know the car is IN the parking lot). You can't of course hear the finder beeping inside a car, so I have to rely on the map. Someone mentioned having a direction would be helpful (a big circle on the map is not helpful). Also having you get 'hotter' or 'colder' as you move towards the item correctly OR move in the wrong direction would be a big help.Having just had a bike stolen from my garage, I was hoping to paste one under the bike seat as shown... but I can't imagine how that would lead me to the bike since the image on the map is not only dated (not real time, but last recorded place) but a broad broad spectrum. To be honest I have not tried the 'find it' using anonymous blue-tooth.I do find for little things, like keys, it works great. I synched my phone so I can go online and make my phone ring, which is nifty. And if I lose my keys and find them instantly because of these tags even 2x a year, they are worth it.I like that I can change the battery.Because they only go a short distance (100-150') I could have gotten 1 finder, put onto my keys and synched my phone and been done. I did sync a second tag and plan to put it into suitcase, or attach to camera or put into purse and hope that if I leave those things behind, I will be notified. I've had it about 50' away in my kitchen while I write this and I keep getting alerts it is out of distance.

Still needs a LOT of improvement. Easily the Finder apear our of range in the app, even inside my home (no more than 12 meters/36 ft).Using one in my dog in the park it disconnect from the app with the pet very close to me. (In fact I think is useless with pets in open spaces, and the beep bothers my dog a lot).Same situation using one in the car for finding it in the parking lot. The map is very low resolution, so the app says that in fact is in the lot, but not the precise place.Several errors on finding my phone from the device.Wait until 5th or 6th generation. This is a beta device, unreliable and VERY short range.I am in Colombia, thats the only reason I am not returning this devices and asking for a refund.

I really wanted this to work. The idea is great! The deign is great! But the electronics don't work. Maybe I should say they didn't work for me on my phone (Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4). It seemed to work a little bit for the first three days then it completely stopped working. I was still testing it and trying to get familiar with it at that point. On the fifth day I ran a test to see if it could find my keys. I put my keys two feet away. I could reach them with my hand. Then I asked Item Finder to find them. It said my keys were "out of range". Then I ran a second test. I used the Item Finder attached to my keys and asked it to find my phone. It couldn't do that. Again the phone was two feet away. I don't know what went wrong. Maybe the battery burned out after three days. Maybe I set things up incorrectly. But I don't have time to try to figure it out. I am returning this product to Amazon.

The XY3 works pretty well on its own. Mine beeps when I use my phone to tell it to beep. The range is pretty good- around 30 to 40 feet. But the company is making the app worse as time goes on. They just removed the ability from the iOS app to have it only use your location when you're using the app. So you either grant it full-time access to your location, or you grant it no access to your location. The catch is that it won't connect to the beacon unless you give the app location access.So the company has tried to herd its users into a box where they grant full-time location services access, thereby letting them drain your battery fairly quickly, all while not even truly running in the background. They apparently think this won't cost them their customers. I do think it will (and should) cost them their customers.

I really wanted to like this product... but it is so inconsistent in its performance that I had to give up and just go with Tile... it is supposed to do just one thing, that's it, but it does not deliver on it. Sometimes my iPhone would find the beacon, sometimes not, sometimes the button would make the phone ring, sometimes not... i tried the 3rd generation, and still the same inconsistent behavior. Not for me.
