A Smart Solution for Pesky Flies
I got these fly traps because we were having a few too many flies buzzing around the garden, especially when we were trying to have a barbecue. They came as a multipack, which was useful, and they looked like little plastic pouches. They're ready-baited, so the setup was incredibly simple. You just add some water up to the line, give it a quick shake, and then hang it somewhere outdoors, away from where you're sitting. Once it's set up, it doesn't take long to start seeing results. The traps do exactly what they promise to do: they attract flies and trap them. It's actually quite effective at drawing them away from the seating area. After a day or two, you can see that they've caught quite a lot of flies, which is a good sign that they're working. The fact that they're non-toxic is also a big bonus. The best thing about them is how well they work to reduce the fly problem in the immediate area. They last for a couple of weeks, so you're sorted for a while once you put them up. They're a brilliant, easy solution for a common summer issue. The main thing to know, and this is important, is that they have a strong smell. It's part of what attracts the flies, but it's not a pleasant smell at all. You definitely wouldn't want to hang one right next to where you're eating. You have to place it a little way off, maybe at the end of the garden, so it can do its job without bothering you. Overall, I'd say they're a great product for what they are. They're not pretty and they do smell, but they are incredibly effective. They'd be perfect for anyone who wants to get rid of flies in an outdoor space without using chemicals.

Unbelievable, Jeff! BUT second purchase unusable following design change
We live next to a dairy farm, flies are a problem because we are surrounded by erm.... large flat brown cylinders of processed grass. We had a bit of an Ooni pizza night two Friday evenings ago on the patio outside the kitchen, opened both sets of bi-fold doors, family round, great night. The following morning and the rest of the weekend, there must have been 50 flies buzzing round the kitchen, with little black dots of fly poo everywhere, so we have declared war on the flies. Three pronged attack: UV bug zapper (£50), Zero In Fly Traps (£11 for 2) and old fashioned sticky fly paper s (£12 for 40). The zapper works, it makes a sound like a gunshot when flies explode on the grid, which is very, very satisfying. But it only catches maybe 3 or 4 per day, no matter where we 've located it so far. The sticky fly paper cassettes work, but they do look horrible and we're limited where we can put them without them being in the way. I am still damaged from an incident years ago when I got a quite full one stuck in my hair in the garage. But the Zero In traps: Oh my good lord. Unbelievable, Jeff. In less than a week, both traps, placed about 5 metres from the kitchen in full sunlight, have caught hundreds, maybe thousands of flies each. And wasps, but no obvious bees, so that's all extra positive. I'm convinced that there are less flies queuing up on the bi-folds as a result. Yes, we'll need a full Friday night back-to-back comparison to be sure, but five days in, the Zero In traps have been incredibly effective, way better than expectation and excellent value compared to everything else. Recommended without reservation. EXCEPT... update 2 months later... I bought a second pair of traps, which have turned up and they've changed the design so you can no longer remove the lid. It's gone from being a simple screw-on to a permanently attached thing that you can't remove. There's a bag of bait in there that I can't get to in order to open, and won't be able to empty the revolting fly soup once it's done its work. Further update... The bag of bait is in a soluble packet, so I added water and put it out right next to the old screw top model with a packet of the bait still available via refill. See attached photo for result... after a few hours the old style is successfully doing its thing, but the new style has attracted not a single fly! So apparently they've also updated the recipe, to one that no longer works. I'm going to leave this in the 5 star review section so people who only look at positive reviews will read it, but it's no longer a 5 star re-usable trap, it's a 1 star useless jar of inert liquid. A plastic jar that costs maybe 10p to manufacture on sale for ten quid. Unusable. Heroes to zeroes. How could you have taken such an excellent product and got this so wrong??

Definitely works!!
A fly trap that actually works. Attracts flies & bluebottles and prevents them coming into your home. I have them a good distance away from my back door and had little or no flies in the house. Great when having people around for bbq etc. No flies buzzing around them. They are so good that they fill up quickly with insects and need cleaning. If the weather is warm, it can create a bit of a smell with the dead flies so will need emptied. Another reason why I keep them a good distance away!

Like a fly magnet - amazing (and no offensive smell EDIT: to start with at least!)
We've had lots of flies in the house and especially the kitchen over this hot weather and wanted to do something about it. Wasn't keen on the "world's worst Xmas decoration" hanging fly paper option and whilst I'd considered the electric fly killers, they either don't work or give off a loud snap each time one bites the dust. Apparently this also means you can get bits of exploded fly in your kitchen - not ideal. This seemed like a it was worth a try - cheap enough to not feel short-changed if it didn't work but with great reviews. So, got it set up - it's an odd smell for sure, but not like rotting roadkill (which is what some of these things do smell like) - despite it saying it would need 24 hours to work, by morning there were already a handful of flies in and now, after less than a week it's probably over half full. It seems to work particularly well those medium-sized metallic-green flies, which were the ones causing us most problems. It has also caught some wasps but no bees or bumblebees (which I was worried about so kept checking). It has 100% kept flies out of the house and now, sat in the sun (hidden from site) there are generally more flies buzzing around it. You could have it close to the house without the smell being a problem - we've got it about 15 - 20 feet from the kitchen and you wouldn't know it was there other than the reduction in the number of flies. It's so effective I've signed up to a subscribe and save offer on the refill sachets. That's the other advantage of this over the one-use options - you can re-use the container, though I'm not looking forward to emptying it I'll be honest. The only flies it seems less good at catching are those smaller, slow moving ones that love flying in circles in the middle of a room - those are still coming in, but, I think, in reduced numbers. But for the annoying ones that buzz round your food this has been brilliant. Exceeded expectations - A1, 100% recommend. UPDATE after a few weeks: Having now used after a few weeks this has continued to impress. I would say though that once it starts to get a bit fuller and the contents starts to rot a bit, the smell does get pretty strong - but that's what attracts the flies so that's definitely not a problem with the product, just something to be aware of in terms of where you're putting it. The disposal isn't the most pleasant task in the world, but the suggestion to bury it (deep and away from any windows!) is sensible. After emptying them I thought that with the hot weather perhaps behind us I wouldn't bother to set them back up again just yet. Big mistake - the number of flies inside instantly increased, showing how effective this is. Set one trap back up earlier and within 2 hours there were 12 flies in there despite it saying that it will take 24 hours to start working - amazing!

Not all of these are reusable but they work!
3* review for something with 5* performance! This really works. Now able to sit and eat in the garden without being buzzed by wasps. Catches flies too when the door is opened not so many come in. However! There are two versions of this product. Only one is actually reusable - despite the packaging on both claiming to be! The versions with the narrower blue top are not! This is annoying, especially when you write and tell them and they don’t respond or apologise. Hence the 3* review. I couldn’t wait for a return and reorder as they wouldn’t have arrived in time for a bbq so feel a bit peeved that I have not received exactly what I ordered. Product Labelling needs to be sorted! Also - as another customer noted - they get stinky when full 😷🤢😷

Too good? And attracts fly’s?
This fly trap definitely does what it promises — maybe a little too well! Within a day of setting it up, I noticed loads of flies stuck to it, which is both satisfying and slightly gross at the same time. It’s super effective and easy to use — just peel, hang, and let it do its thing. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it seems to attract flies from everywhere! I feel like I actually noticed more flies around at first, but thankfully they all ended up on the trap pretty quickly. So yes, it works — almost too well! Overall, really happy with it and will definitely buy again, but maybe next time I’ll hang it a bit further away from where we sit!
