Rainbow loom 494 R0003 Official Monster Tail

Was excited when I received this as I have wanted it since it came out. I am happy to report that I received a genuine loom with an anti-counterfeit code which allowed me access to the members area of the official website. It's a great shame that some folks have received the fake versions. The Monster Tail is a great product, and comes with instructions, mixed coloured bands, c clips and a hook. The hook is a plastic one, but has the new style mini loom included which I hadn't had before now, and I am sure will come in handy. The loom has the usual quality of all the official products, well put together, sturdy, and nice smooth pins. At 33, I am older doing this wonderful hobby and like with my other hobbies, I like to have the best tools I can. There are a lot of generic make looms on the market, but I have only ever used the Rainbow Loom, as it is far superior. It may be tempting to buy cheaper or fake ones, but really, the official products are worth every penny. Using the Monster Tail is nice and simple. You can still make some of the bracelets on the normal loom, but the spacing between the pins on this make it easier for your bracelets to pass down through the middle as you work (the main reason I wanted it), and its size is nice to handle and obviously more portable. The side of the pins you hook from are on the outside, so it's nice and easy to see what you are doing. It's perfect and quick for getting out whilst on the sofa, and if you have not got alternate storage for your bands, the box has a little compartment to keep your loose bands in, that has a plastic 'lid', so you can easily have it by your side whilst working on your creations with it not taking up much space. I've already created lots of new bracelets on this using the included bands, it's especially good for chunkier styles. It also includes some of the new bigger C clips which you will definitely need for some of the bracelet styles you can create. Personally, I use metal jump rings to close them off more permanently. I would certainly recommend this to loomers of any age, young or old, and to those who have not previously used loom bands, it would be a nice one to get started with. I have two of the full-sized looms as well, and this is a great addition to my collection.

This is the best little loom (and easiest I know of) that kids can start to use to make bracelets with although be aware that it is designed specifically to make variations of Tail bracelets i.e. fishtails, quad tails etc of which there are stacks of variations on design - just look on YouTube for some awesome patterns to make. Unlike the large standard Rainbow loom, this one is highly portable and easy to take wherever kids go so good for journeys: car, plane, train and for getting out in a cafe or even restaurant when children get understandably bored in waiting for adults to hurry up! A lot of children learn how to make these bracelets by making them on their fingers - this board mimics that process which makes it easier for kids to understand and it enhances that since it provides 8 pegs to work on instead of 5 digits on a hand. That allows for a lot more design options. My 7 year old did not get the standard loom at all - but she understood how to use this monster tail one straightaway and made quite a tricky bracelet on her first attempt just by looking at the photo instructions. I think it gives a great deal with the board, official bands and the special hook that you use to latch on to the bands and pull them over the pegs. It has given hours of fun and despite being a cheap present for my daughter's birthday, it was actually her favorite one. Fab craft toy.

Good solid little loom. I was surprised at how many patterns can be adjusted to work on the monster tail when I looked online. There's lots of video tutorials on youtube. It could be a more practical thing to take travelling with kids rather than the foot long full loom, if you are willing to risk getting a car full of tiny elastic bands because these suckers get everywhere! Comes with a generous supply of bands which are noticably thicker and stretchier than cheaper knock offs, so I am saving those for when I have a better hang of it. Overall I like loom bands, even if they are aimed at kids, they're a fun way to chill out your brain in front of the telly but have something to show at the end of it.

I love making loom band bracelets and so far my best technique is the fishtail pattern. I tried making a triple fishtail loom bracelet on my existing loom board by following a tutorial on YouTube but to no avail. Eventually I found another video tutorial on YouTube that featured the Rainbow Loom Monster Tail, which made it look like the easiest way to make a triple fishtail bracelet. After having watched the video, I searched the web to see if I could buy it on Amazon and I could for a reasonable £6.99. I ordered it and it was delivered to my local Amazon Locker the following day. Soon I started making a triple fishtail loom bracelet on the monster tail loom and although it took me four attempts to get it right I was pleased with the result. The kit is a good compact size that may come in useful for travelling and the plastic hook that came with it was better than those that came with the several loom band packs I had purchased although I soon switched to a metal Rainbow Loom hook. I also liked the generously sized C-clips as well as the mini loom that comes in handy for making single fishtail loom bracelets. I haven't used the bands that came with the kit yet because I still have several to go through. Overall excellent product so far, reasonably priced and quick delivery too. 5/5

Il prodotto arriva in una piccola scatola sigillata, e corrisponde perfettamente a quanto indicato nella descrizione; contiene una bustina con tanti elastici di diversi colori, un'altra più piccola con dei gancetti in plastica trasparente per chiudere i braccialetti, un piccolo telaio, un uncinetto in plastica e un altro telaio a Y (è la parte che copre l'uncinetto), un piccolo libretto di istruzioni. Gli elastici sembrano di buona qualità, mia figlia ha fatto e disfatto braccialetti diverse volte e non si sono rotti; il libretto contiene solo 2 modelli (un po' complessi) da realizzare con il telaio trasparente, con istruzioni in inglese e francese. Mia figlia però conosceva già, attraverso tutorial in rete, il metodo con le dita (o le matite) e ha continuato a usare quello, sostituendo le dita con il telaio a Y (le dita ringraziano!). Il fratello ha mostrato interesse pure lui e utilizza lo stesso metodo col telaio piccolo. Fanno tanti braccialetti e si divertono, anche perché è un passatempo non troppo impegnativo, e lo si può fare chiacchierando o guardando la TV. In rete ci sono tanti tutorial anche per cose diverse dai braccialetti, basta cercare e scegliere cose non troppo complicate. Insomma, il gioco è piaciuto: soddisfa la voglia di creare qualcosa da sé, senza delusioni, e fa trascorrere del tempo in maniera spensierata. Consegna Amazon come sempre precisa e puntuale.
