Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro)

Our old charger was about 8 years old and the cable split close to the magnetic part that connects to the laptop, it still worked but not happy with the risk of using a damaged charger. Read so many stories about cheap fake/copy chargers catching fire so paid for this one. Arrived gorgeously packaged as only Apple can do...It works as it should, happy to leave it connected overnight to ensure updates for our MacBook.

Bought 4 of these in the past off another online retail site, look gen in apple boxes even the debossed logo & label are the same but opened next to an gen apple & wiring is completely different inside lots of glue gun usage in one. Decided to splash out on another Apple genuine product but from here and at least a tenner cheaper. Can't put my finger on it but there is definitely a different quality feel about it unless it's my mind playing tricks like a placebo.

I recently bought an off-brand charger which lasted a few weeks so I decided to invest in an official Apple charger. The price is a little hefty but the quality is definitely worth it. My last one lasted 5 years so I am hoping this will perform the same. The reason I am giving it four stars is that I believe the charger could be a little cheaper. Great customer service from Amazon when I had my problem too!

With all the fake chargers on the market i was i little wary of where i buy from, this charger arrived on time and to my delight it was a genuine Apple charger! The best way to check this is with the charger powered up then click the Apple at top left of menu bar, then "about this Mac" then "System Report" and down the list that is then shown to "Power" there you should find the serial number for the charger, if not shown it is a "fake"Hope this helps.

Have a 2006 Macbook Pro, the cable on the power adapter gave up on me after so many years and wore really thin and eventually snapped off. Was pretty worried that I couldn't get a replacement seeing as my MBP is so old but this is excellent, real Apple product (not like a lot of the fakes on offer on amazon and on other sites) and the casing for the adapter and the wiring seems more solid than the old one.

Dear Apple,I can't find a way to contact you. I have bought an apple charger for my mac book, but it didn't work. I have returned it by post and awaiting a refund. Usually things with amazon process quickly unlike with this product I haven't received a refund within the 5-7 day bracket. Please respond within 24 hrs or i will take action.Best wishes,Margarita

Definitely does the job, I use this with a MagSafe 2 adaptor ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/MagSafe-to-2-Converter/dp/B008ALAHA4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1477338771&sr=8-1&keywords=magsafe+to+magsafe+2+adaptor ) for a newer MacBook and still have the ability to use it with my older MacBooks. It seems to have a stronger magnet than the MagSafe 2 but I could be wrong, one definite advantage over the MagSafe 2 is the fact the cable runs parallel to the edge of the MacBook rather than sticking out, I found that was much easier to knock out than this older design.My biggest complaint (which I cant say about many apple products) is build quality, I'm averaging one of these adaptors a year, my MacBook is used every day for work, so it sees heavy use being constantly taken in and out of bags, but I'm not the only one to have issues either the cable splits open or the MagSafe connection stops registering properly and it then wont charge the laptop even after carefully cleaning the contacts on both the MacBook socket and MagSafe plug.

These are very overpriced, as with all Apple products, but is does what it is meant to perfectly. Sure it is genuine.

Este producto se ha colado en el portal en español porque tiene clavija inglesa y no tiene adaptador. Y en las especificaciones no se indicaba. La devolución ha sido muy ágil por parte de Amazon.
