From American Girl, meet the WellieWishers, a sweet and silly group of girls who each have the same big, bright wish: to be a good friend. Join them in playful early chapter books, as they step into their colorful garden boots, and get ready for stomping in mud puddles, putting on shows, and helping friendships grow. It's Aunt Miranda's birthday! The WellieWishers want to give her something special, but they can't agree on what it should be. Then Kendall discovers the Tomorrow Pile. What looks like a bunch of old, dirty, broken things to the other girls looks like cool fun stuff with lots of potential to Kendall! Can the girls work together to create something wonderful for Aunt Miranda? Review: Best introduction to chapter books for young girls! - I cannot say enough amazing things about the Welliewishers books!! They are chapter books, but they are filled with colorful illustrations that bring the story to life. My daughter is still in preschool, but she loves these books and begs me to read them to her over and over. I love that she is learning how to listen to longer stories, and they are so engaging and relatable for her. I really wish there were other series of books that were written so well, taught such great character skills, and were just as engaging for the 4-6 year old range. Well done, AG!! Review: Perfect addition to the dolls and show - My 5 year old daughter and I love all of the Wellie Wishers books! I especially love that they are different plot lines from the show on desertcart prime. This story about Kendall repurposing the old tidbits in the garden is really cute. Kendall seems to have the most different personality from the other four Wellie Wishers and it causes some tension (in the show too), but they always work it out in the end!

Good story teaches creativity patience and forgiveness
Love these WellaWisher books!! Good for any little girl learning to read. Easy sentences with mostly familiar words for younger ages to understand and read independently. Good story of creativity, patience, and forgiveness

Nice book for your Wellie Wishers!
I purchased this book for my granddaughter who is five to accompany her American Girl Doll Wellie Wishers. She is not quite up to reading the books herself. I read them to her. They also compliment her school's "Mind Up" program. I find the books to be thoughtful explorations of the dynamics of friendship among young girls. There are also suggestions in the books for activities to reinforce the ideas in the book. I'm not sure if one would enjoy the books if you didn't own the dolls.
