After thwarting a terrorist attack at Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof Station during the climactic finale of season five, season six picks up several months later following the recent election of the new President of the United States. Carrie Mathison is back on American soil, living in Brooklyn, NY, and working at a foundation that provides aid to the Muslim community living in the United States. As her estranged mentor Saul Berenson and Dar Adal begin preparations for the new President-elect, Quinn, left clinging to life at the end of last season, is convalescing stateside. Review: Gutted - I say Gutted as I have now watched HOMELAND in its entirety twice and loved every minute of watching Carrie get the job done. Love her character a strong hard working dedicated woman doing what she felt right in order too protecther country and the ones she loved at the same time wiping out or bringing to justice the ones that needed weeded out from society. I'm sure as well when mere mortals like us sleep in our beds there are women like this who go about their business keeping us all safe every day. The series had such great actors like Damian Lewis which was the best part off the whole series as well as Mandy Patinkin which added more great drama through their efforts. Really a big miss but all good things must come o an end at some point. Review: Homeland series 6 - Product as advertised

Exciting and dangerous, and just as good as the previous series
I have enjoyed all these series so far, as they are, unfortunately, not too far from reality. This series was quite frightening as " fake news" is ever present. As always, the plots had plenty of twists and turns, and the music added to the events and atmosphere. But, as usual, I am complaining about the actors mumbling their lines, especially Saul. The character of the President elect was very cleverly played, and not a particularly likeable person. Maybe I shall have a more positive opinion about her in the seventh series. I thought that Peter Quinn and his problems was superb. I shall look forward to series seven.

A Thrilling Season 6, at a Good Price.
Homeland Season 6, DVD Version; English language/Subtitles only; plus Dansk, Suomi, Norsk, Svenska Subtitles. Sold, & delivered by EU Postal Service, by third party company, via Amazon UK app. Timely delivery; no damages to case or discs, and had case outer sleeve. Follows on from the excellent season 5 (which I recommend watching before this one), set in Germany; this season is just as good, set in New York City. Image quality very high, better than some of my older Blu Ray's. A shame the series unravels in season 7, until episode 8; then the series ends with a terrific season 8 - which is still not available on home media, not even dvd! Highly Recommended.

A grower
Not a certified TV classic like Season 1, and not instantaneous entertainment like much of the other Homeland that came before this sixth entry, but a superbly written and beautifully subtle season that gets better every time you watch it. The acting and casting are first-rate as ever. Rupert Friend and F. Murray Abraham are particularly fantastic in their established roles, although both with new twists applied - Quinn now has a physical and intellectual disability which is depicted expertly albeit brutally, whilst Dar Adal reaches new levels of sour, ruthless, evil and yet always ambiguous as you try and guess just how deeply involved he is (or not) in the central military-industrial conspiracy that comes to a head in a salvo of raw and utterly gripping final sequences. The simplified domestic setting of an ice-cold New York also proves to be highly refreshing here, after all of the (admittedly enjoyable) gallivanting around Beirut, Caracas, Tehran, Islamabad and Berlin that have dominated the series since its second outing. A controversial new President has just been elected and the 12 episodes lead up to her January inauguration. Homeland is often at its strongest when events play out in the “home land” of America - which was really the whole point of the show in the first place - and by never travelling further than the East Coast of the US, Season 6 does not disappoint in this regard. This one is truly a slow burner, preferably to be enjoyed in the winter months. Persevere as I have and you will grow to love it.

An excellent box set
This is a compelling series to watch. Started to watch series on holiday in USA and then bought the box set when I returned to UK. The last season is Season 8 which is also worth watching

Four Stars
Excellent! Can't wait for the rest of the series to go on line! Now I've seen the whole of series 6 and it's quite frankly the best of the lot. Superb plotline, branching out all over the shop. The acting -- particularly Rupert Friend as a stroke victim -- was terrific all the way thru. Claire Danes on absolutely top form, and the ending was truly chilling. Hope there's a 7th series, altho to beat series 6 they'll need to up their game even more!

Another very good season
+++Warning, this will contain the spoiler for the cliffhanger at the end of season 5, but no major giveaways from season 6+++++ This season of Homeland brought the show back to the United States. It is specifically set in New York and has a few different intertwined storylines, the main one being an attempt at taking down the President-elect. It is very heavily influenced by the political climate and events of the past few years. The stories are well done, the acting is top notch, and I do not think the show is overly preachy with the political elements as some shows can be. It did incorporate an Infowars like radio show and a social media troll farm into the story, and definitely used the real-world political divisiveness and hatred which exists to tell part of the story. Rupert Friend as Quinn is really the standout this season. We learn in the first episode that Carrie did not end up pulling the plug on him, and when he comes back he is a shell of his former self, dealing with, among other things, with PTSD. He has to go through a range of emotions with the character, and he does it very well. While he is (in my opinion) the show's "backbone" this season, all the actors, both main and supporting, did a great job with their material. Homeland is definitely a show that has had its ups and downs. I do think they struggled to end the Brody storyline, but now, being a few seasons removed from it I think the show has recovered quite well. It could have easily gone in the tank after the first two seasons when all was revealed (and there are definitely some out there who think it did). But if you gave up on it during season 3 or 4, I think it has recovered nicely the past couple seasons and is well worth taking a look at again. For those who get the blu-rays, the A/V quality is very good as you would expect. There is a season play mode so you can stop during any episode and pick up where you left off. For extras, there are a couple behind the scenes featurettes (each only a couple minutes long) and then an almost hour long roundtable dicussion with some of the cast and showrunners. Okay for what is there, but not tons of material.
