So, really this is just a child's game and it isn't 'more adult' for being five dimensional?

It is exactly the same game as usual - a 2-D game of snakes and ladders but played on different levels. The attraction is just that the snakes really do send the ball downwards. I play it regularly with my 6-year old granddaughter and she can manage it without any problem. The only drawback is that it is a bit fiddly in setting up.

Is this suitable for a 3 1/2 year old?

Not really it is more suitable for a 5 to 6 year old

Why does this say Prime on advert then not eligible for prime in the details?

I'm not sure where you are reading that but the game is currently available through Prime.
