I have had a household fan for a number of years, but it was beginning to stick badly and taking forever to start up. With the current heatwave and replacement fans completely sold out everywhere, I decided there must be a way to fix it myself.After watching a couple of YouTube videos, I initially tried using some standard oil, but within a few days, the fan was sticking all over again. Standard oil just isn't refined enough for delicate appliance motors and gums up quickly.This machine oil was exactly what I needed. It is a much lighter, high quality lubricant. After applying it thoroughly to the mechanical parts, the fan is now spinning perfectly as if it is brand new.One crucial word of advice for anyone trying to do the same repair: you really need to take the whole fan apart, including getting right down to the motor and the coils, to clear out the old gunk and lubricate it properly. If your appliances are seizing up, skip the generic oils and go straight for this. It is a fantastic, cheap fix that saves working hardware from the landfill.
