Product Description One of the most critical factors in caring for tarantulas in captivity is using the right substrate. The most commonly used substrates in the industry are coco coir and vermiculite. The problem with these substrates is that they are always either too dry or too wet, and neither of them will hold a proper burrow. Whether you have a terrestrial or an arboreal species, Lugarti’s premium tarantula substrate is the best option available. It allows you to simulate a natural habitat and control important humidity parameters per your species’ specific requirements. Instructions for use: For slings to adults, arboreal and terrestrial species, simply fill the enclosure (vial, container, terrarium, etc.) With a depth 4 - 5 times the height (not length) of your tarantula and pack down firmly. Add water to the substrate for species that require higher humidity. Spot clean and replace as needed (visual).

Off-the-shelf ease
It holds moisture well and makes really excellent burrows. I’m using it for all my slings, and will likely switch some of my fossorial and terrestrial adults to it eventually, too. Plain coco fiber is kind of loose, but this stuff stays compact, which T’s seems to prefer. Yes, you can spend less to make your own substrate mixes, but that’s a time-consuming process and this substrate works great as is.

Great Product
All I use for all my Inverts now. This stuff is amazing. My Vinagaroon makes awesome burrows with it. Waiting for 1 of my slings to molt so I can replace it's coco bedding with Lugarti. Will be buying more soon
