Is this knife full tang?

no, not that I can tell. I have one of these and it's useful only as decoration. The brass cross guard on mine is loose and rattles if you shake the knife. I believe the tang is simply glued into the handle. Like I said, it makes a pretty display, but I wouldn't use it to fight off grizzly bears or even zombies.

Would this knife be safe to train solo drills with (in the air, with no contact)? I'm unclear if this knife is purely decorative and would fly apart.

Well, i'm sixth dan JUDO master, i'm in defense arts also with small things as weapons (ordinary things). I can tell that this knife is too big to fly it or swing it because of it big blade. The handle and the guard fullfill their pourposse, they are to stab big animals or big objetives... Its a small sword, you shuld use it carefully. For close combat it wont work. Buy it, its a very nice tool for hunting boar with dogs... The boar wont know who happend to it when the blade hit it!!!
