About this item
The NewStar AV equipment shelf is ideal for placement of AV equipment under or above flat screens using VESA 100x100 to VESA 400x400 The shelf is attached via the mounting holes on the back of the TV and sits between your TV and the wall mount. Depth of 28.5cm and a width of 46cm. Product Description The NewStar shelf is ideal for placing your everyday devices (e.g. DVD Player, Games Console or Cable TV Box) under or above your TV using the pre-drilled (VESA) holes that come as standard on the back of your TV. Typically the shelf would be used in conjunction with another mount/bracket such as a wall bracket. There is the potential for the shelf to be used with a TV on its original stand but you would need to be very careful about this for two reasons - A) You would need to ensure that the stand that comes with the TV does not obstruct the shelf, B) be aware that there is the potential that the shelf could unbalance your TV, so we would urge you to be careful when considering this as an option. The shelf is attached via the mounting holes on the back of the TV and sits between your TV and the wall mount. Typically the shelf is used with wall mounted TVs. The shelf fits all hole size patterns on the back of the TV (referred to as VESA in the trade) between 100x100mm up to 400x400mm. The shelf dimensions are depth of 28.5cm and a width of 46cm which allows you to conveniently store the majority of your everyday devices below your TV (up to a combined weight of 10kg). Create a clean design ambience for your flatscreen TV in the living room, bedroom or home cinema. All installation material is included with the product. Design Flaw
Great idea, but in practice has a bit of a design flaw. Although this fits my TV's vesa, the side returns on the vertical struts block the hooks where my TV attaches to the wall mount. Which is daft, as the only way around it was to move the shelf to it's lowest setting so it no longer interferes as much (I've had to secure the TV to the wall mount with cable ties to be on the safe side). The shelf is now a lot lower than I wanted.Pic attached - the arrow shows how I've had to set this at the lowest setting in order not to block the TV hanger (circled).

Takes a lot of time to fit
We saw this and thought it would be perfect for a sky q box. Yes it fits but, what a performance putting it together. The instructions could have been better. The plastic crops that hold the glass in place not good. The glass moves a lot. I would recommend that you attach that brackets 1st then put the glass in place otherwise you might end up buying another one, as it can easily come out while your fixing it. Other than that it only took 3 hours to fit it and I’m very fast normally with these things. But this was worse that putting IKEA stuff together. But see from the photo managed it in the end. Just have a good look before you buy make sure it’s right for your needs. It’s definitely a 2 people job.

Perfect for putting Sky box under/above TV without drilling holes
I've recently mounted the TV on the wall, and didn't want to have to drill any more holes in the wall but needed someplace to put the Sky box. The TV is kind of in the corner at an angle, so I thought wall-mounting a shelf under the TV was going to look a bit odd. I hunted around looking for some ideas that weren't going to cost a fortune and thought this fitted the bill......So a rather heavy box turned up one afternoon a couple of days after ordering. Inside it were some bracket-type bits of metal, a load of screws/washers and stuff, and a glass shelf. Oh, and an instruction leaflet.After a bit of deciding whether to put the shelf above or below the TV (I eventually went with above) I followed the instructions and after 5 minutes looking for a screwdriver I started fitting the shelf. I didn't need to remove the TV - just did one bolt at a time with my partner holding the TV (just in case). Less than 10 minutes after I started I had a rather good looking shelf in place, and no drama or power tools required. A further 5 mins tidying up my cables (I like neat cables) and everything was perfect - there wasn't any mess! If you've ever dealt with flat pack furniture or similar then you'll manage this no problem at all. I daresay there's slightly nicer ways of getting the result I have with this shelf, but that'd likely involve spending much more and drilling holes and hiding cables - not what I was after

Great shelf/bracket
I have been wanting a bracket /shelf like this for ages but never came across one. So when I found this it was a relief, now my bluray and TV are all tieded up and looking fab.

Just what I needed.Not sure why there aren't more of these on the market.Neat solution for a centre speaker on a TV which is wall mounted.Sky Soundbox fits nicely on this and feels robust enough (no vibrations etc)

Expensive for what it is but if your like me and hate boxes and cables everywhere it's provides a good alternative solution to having certain items on show.

Great TV Shelf
Absolutely great product, we decided to sit this above the TV to hold our new Sky Q box, easily fitted and does the job perfectly!Would be great for DVD, Sky boxes etcWould definitely recommend!
