6061-T6 Aluminum Sheet 8x12x1/2 Inch Thickness Durable Aluminum Plate Metal Sheet Covered with Protective Film for Industry, DIY

The material is great for what I need. I am giving it five stars for that alone. YOU MUST BE AWARE that it is not actually the size as stated. My plate arrived at a thickness of 0.477" as measured with calipers. The length and width were about 1/8" shy of the stated 8"x12" dimensions (so 7.87" x 11.87"). Again, I am giving it full stars because it is nice material that met my needs. It was flat enough to me by eye on a ground surface. I am making small parts. It was nicely protected on both sides with a clear film. There was some minor scratches on one side, but I find that typical since it's a rather heavy plate being cut down to the smaller size from a much heavier plate. Good luck with your projects.

Very nice sample of metal. I have no way to verify the alloy (advertised as 6061-T6) but the piece arrived perfectly clean, nicely covered in sticky clear film, and cut to withing ~1mm of stated size. The cuts were smooth, but unpolished. Perfect for my project.

used this to make a bigger base for my lemon squeezer. Shipped quickly and a greatr thickness for what I needed. Will order more.

I'm subtracting one star because the material received is undersize. It was 3/16 inch off in one direction, and 1/8 inch off in the other. If you say it's 8x12, then you need to deliver that size. I suspect what's going on is they lay the pieces out on an 8x12 pattern, and then cut the sheet, so the kerf comes out of what you're buying. Aside from that, it was delivered quickly, and the quality was fine. So 4 stars.

These are excellent aluminum plate for a reasonable price. If I need more this will be the source.

I bought this for making hobby parts and the aluminum mills and drills very good. No scratches and covered with protective plastic. Will buy again

I purchased this aluminum plate for a custom rifle project and have been very happy with it so far. The material arrived as advertised and was exactly what I was looking for. The plate is substantial, feels rigid and well suited for fabrication work, and provides plenty of material for machining custom parts. What I liked: * thick, sturdy aluminum plate * dimensions matched expectations * suitable for machining and fabrication * arrived in good condition * good value compared to sourcing small quantities locally My intended use is manufacturing custom rifle components, where having a quality piece of stock material is far more important than fancy packaging or cosmetic presentation. In that role, this material fits the bill perfectly. I haven't finished the project yet, so I can't comment on long-term performance of the final parts, but the raw material itself appears to be exactly what was advertised. The plate is thick, flat, and provides a solid starting point for machining operations. There isn't much more to ask from a product like this. When ordering metal stock, I simply want the correct material delivered in the correct size and condition. That's exactly what I received. If you're looking for aluminum plate for fabrication, gunsmithing, shop projects, or general machining work, this is a solid option.

This material is not the thickness advertised. It is metric dimensions. It was advertised as 1/2" thick, when in fact it is only 0.400 thick. Completely unusable for my application.

The parts I received did not have the transparent protective film on them. One piece was only 11.5mm thick instead of the expected 12.7mm. Generally pleased with the product. Generally is as described.
