Bought this book in conjunction with a book maker's starter kit (nothing to do with gambling). An excellent book to start you off. I used it along with YouTube videos.

It was full of clear instructions ohotos and ideas and as an encouragement it was a beautifully made book

The book is well written with lovely art work. It inspired me to try the projects.

I am new to Bookbinding and found this book very easy to follow. It contains straight forward bookbinding techniques which will result in you being able to produce professional books which you will be able to adapt to whatever artist books you require. I have made sketchbooks and a stab binding book as well as concertina ones which I have experimented with. I look forward to visiting their workshop in London.This is an essential book for anyone starting out or experienced bookbinders who want to hone their skills.

I wanted to learn basic book binding for a photographic project I'm working on, I couldn't have chosen a better jumping off point with this book. The number and variations in the type of bindings is deliberately kept to a handful but taken all together they all teach the basic skills which if you can master them will set you up to experiment with designing and developing exactly what you want. If you want a no nonsense introduction to personal/craft book binding (as opposed to industrial scale production), then I cannot recomend this too highly.

I used this is college as a Fine Arts major. My professor used it as reference in your class intro to book binding. This book really helped me out.

Très bon bouquin, clair dans ses explications.Je précise quand même que même si le niveau d'anglais est basique dans la formulation, il y a du vocabulaire assez spécifique à apprendre (il y a un glossaire à la fin). Je le conseille aux débutants comme moi, qui veulent apprendre les bases (faire des petits carnets, puis des reliures un peu plus difficiles).Ne pas hésiter à acheter des kits de bookbinding tout fait car ça aide beaucoup d'avoir le bon matériel au début.
