BGMouthpiece Black Cushions for Clarinet & Saxophone - Large (A10L)

I bought some Vandoren mouthpiece patches first and they didn’t stick well. And then I remembered BGB. Absolutely brilliant, fantastic adhesion. Won’t use anything else now. Well worth the money.

Feels a bit strange on first use having never used mouthpiece pads before. Great product! Prevents the mouthpiece from getting dented and wrecked from frequent use. Bit pricey for what you get, but I'm hoping they last a while.

I resisted putting patches on my mouthpiece for years, thinking it was a kind of cheating and might lead to heavier biting. On the contrary, they lead to a more comfortable experience overall and if anything, improve the embouchure. These work well, they're the right thickness and texture as well as being adaptable for any size (just cut them down for smaller instruments). Good price - though I don't know how long they'll last.

The large size cushion fits the 4C Yamaha mouthpiece. Cushion quality is good . Found durability and adhesion quite good as it lasted a good year before it started to split.

We really struggled to understand which one we needed for a tenor saxophone mouthpiece! Large or small? Description is not great as it only gives you 2.5cmx2.5cmx2.5cm... A bit ridiculous! Anyway, we got the large one hoping it was the right size. Bingo!My son did chew through the cushion that came with the saxophone in about 2 months. So I think the BG are pretty resistant.However, just under £6 for 6 cushions... Not the best value for money for a piece of rubber... Nevertheless, I could have paid a lot more for it in a shop, so I gave them 4 star for the value.They are comfortable and my son is happy with them. It's just miserable me.who is not that happy to pay so much for 6 pieces of rubber. Mind you, everything to do with saxophones 🎷 is pricey.

I decided to try the small size cushions for an Otto link metal tenor mouthpiece. For me they work really well as they cushion the front two upper teeth from vibration without numbing too much of the feel.It's a very personal thing so I reckon most would find the larger size best for tenor or baritone.Anyway, the cushions work well; not too thick and not too thin. Dawkes Music, as usual, were excellent.
