Figura Santa Original Nativity Set figures - PLAIN STYLE. Hand-carved from olive wood in the Holy Land. Height 9 cm (3,54 inches).

Nicely carved set, Mary, Kings, crib, infant, two shepherds (or is one of them Joseph?) and some sheep. Unlike most sets, the characters neither look infantile, nor too austere, but, at least in that one that I was sent, the natural colouration of the grain in the wood (not shown in the product photograph) has given Mary a sinister appearance, half her face is white, and the other half almost black - one or other would have been fine, but piebald is not a good look. The crib looks more like a coffin than a bed, and if there is a Joseph, he does not have his traditional staff. So, good value, but could easily have been more attractive.

Yep.. it's small.. but I knew that... now I know how small that is. It arrived promptly though. I agree that the manger looks more like a coffin.. the baby lies ON it, not IN it and I can't decide whether the two male figures are Joseph and and angel or Joseph and the shepherd... but .. they are stylised figures and not the horrible white western faces etc we see elsewhere, so that's good. They do the job, fit into the stable I bought and at that price, that's fine.

Not wuite as expected, but exceeds expectations. Beautiful addition to Christmas.

It's came with in 48 hours of ordering, well packaged, it is simple & was smaller than I had imagined when I ordered it. It is very competitively priced compared with similar products in stores so I was pleased with the purchase.

This was just what I had hoped for : my mother gave me a set long ago, and I wanted to give the same to my children. I didn't think I'd find it, and I did. Just right, very simple.
