Car Aircon Air Con Air Conditioning Leak Stopper Leakstopper 1 x Gas Can Pack

The AC in my wife's Astra had a very small leak. At a garage, a vacuum test always worked OK but after a recharge, the AC slowly petered out and was useless after about 4 weeks. So I decided to use one of these 'leak stoppers' to hopefully bring it back to life. This basically refurbishes the O-rings and connections in the AC system. These can shrink and degrade over time giving a small leak. You will need a charging hose (R134A compatible) and you should use goggles and gloves. After use you will also need to top up the AC refrigerant. So, the expense can mount up. That said, the process is quick and easy and, in our case, the results are brilliant, the leaks have gone and we have 'permanent' ice cold air from the vents! We are very pleased.

Follow the instructions , I bought the aircon topup kit with the gauge and when I tested the pressure it advised to use the aircon stop leak . Was a bit sceptical but ordered the stop leak . Followed the instructions and the stop leak filled it to the recommended pressure . Now the aircon in my wife’s 2014 VW beetle is icy cold .

As long as you put things together in the right order and check you have the right gas for your vehicle, I can’t see anyone getting this wrong. Keep shaking the bottle as it goes in. I believed my system had too large a leak for this to deal with, but it’s just enough to get the condenser running and run cool enough to call it a success. It’s carried me over a very warm summer when I have to commute in black uniform. You won’t see the pressure rise much if you have an empty system like I did. But it’s worth a punt before handing over to a garage. What’s the worst you can do, rejuvenate all the seals?

ITS SUPPOSED TO DO A SIMPLE BASIC TASK, BUT IT DID NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WOULD NEED TO BUY A SEPARATE KIT OR PAY YOUR LOCAL GARAGE TO DO THE JOB THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO AVOID. SO WHATS THE POINT OF BUYING A PRODUCT THAT YOU CANNOT DIY.

A very good air conditioning sealent. I went for the full recommend package of the hose pipe with guage, 3 air conditioning canister and 2 sealents and really pleased how well a quality product they ask are, garage wanted £210 just to service Hyundai i40, enjoyed doing all myself, system was completely empty so used a full tin of sealent to the recommended area on the gauge ran system for 30 minutes or so and noticed a fair bit of actual air-conditioning was present so pleased to say no leaks, following day needed to discharge a fair bit to fill up with the actual air-conditioning canister, one full tin used of each and all is nice and very cold, just as child as the outside being in England. I had no idea how much air-conditioning was needed note I know just a can of each was adequate, have plenty note just incase we do get a nice summer in couple of years. Really pleased with everything and you don't need to be mechanically inclined to use just follow the instructions.

A Cheaper way to cure your Air Con, providing it is not a major fault or leak, if it is bad you might need to go to a professional, but with a test gauge this is an easy way to test and seal and with a refill to top up if required.
