Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Deluxe Illustrated Slipcase Edition

Firstly it is huge! I should have checked the dimensions but it is big. It comes in a cardboard box (also with an art sketch on it) which is nice for storage/protection. The actual book and slipcase are beautiful and appear to be good quality. The illustrations are fantastic. I haven't seen the regular illustrated edition to compare although intend on buying that one for my daughter to read and keep in her bookcase, this one we will read together, it's probably too big for her to manage on her own. Bonus is that it is printed and bound in Italy, I always appreciate a book not printed and bound in China as so many are these days. Is it worth £150, I'm not sure, I love it but £150 is expensive. Definitely a good buy when on offer though.

What a wonderful book to give to loved ones, a very luxurious gift. I also bought the entire series for myself. It arrived well packaged and very quickly.

Completely Stunning ! I can’t say enough how beautiful these versions are. The regular illustrated versions are very lovely too and actually are enough to appreciate Jim Kay’s fantastic work! But If you are a Potterhead / collector then do not sit on this , you won’t regret it.

This book is worth every penny. I bought all 4 of them and they are up there with my most prized possessions. Absolutely outstanding. Amazing.

Every detail is perfect. The case, the pages, colours and text: it's a dream.

While it is beautifully presented, i would have expected some extra illustrations compared to the other illustrated version. there is an extra Diagon Alley piece, but nothing in the book that i can see. It is very expensive for what you get. I will probably return it.

Ce livre est un magnifique objet de collection ! Il est plus grand que la version illustrée normale (et aussi bien plus lourd XD), et les illustrations sont sublimes ! Je ne sais pas si je prendrais la collection complète étant donné le prix qui n'est quand même pas négligeable, mais en tout cas je ne regrette pas mon achat :)

A gorgeous edition for collectors and fans alike, this deluxe version of the illustrated harry potter and the philosopher's stone is simply stunning. With sophisticated line art by Jim Kay on the purple cloth covered slipcase and the book itself, this is definitely something to treasure for a lifetime! The book itself is very heavy and large with high quality premium grade paper and gilt edges , accompanied by a huge diagon alley poster. Of course the book is a little expensive but I'm damn sure that it's worth each and every penny. Simply awesome. Just go for it.
