I dyed my hair for my wedding. The red was gorgeous! The dye did wash out rather quick but I’m sure that’s because of the deepness of the red and how much I wash my hair. I’m so pleased with this dark red color and the photos turned out perfect! Keep in mind when looking at the photo that I usually use a much lighter red from Madison Reed and my hair is naturally blonde, so I’m certain that has affected the color. This is a high quality product that comes with a shower cap, good gloves, skin protectant, shampoo and conditioner. All are of good quality!

Great color

I’ve always used Japanese foam hair dye before, so this was my first time trying Madison Reed. For context, I’m Asian with naturally black hair (though I dyed it brown about six months ago). Hair dye typically doesn’t work well on my hair unless I leave it on longer than directed. I followed the instructions exactly and kept it on for just 35 minutes since I was a bit nervous trying a new brand. To my surprise, it worked really well—maybe too well! I was going for a subtle hint of red, but I ended up with full-on red hair. Even though the result was more dramatic than I intended, I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out. Fingers crossed the color lasts!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This product made my hair feel like straw. I got the garnet red. My roots were bright orange. I would not recommend this product. In the picture my hair is wet but it didn't get better as it dried. After ringing my hair for 20 minutes the water was still quite orange. The water in the shower was orange several days and it dyed my towels. I got thr dye out of the towels with bleach. When I went outside I was sweating orange. I have used this line of hair dye before and I never had this issue. I am very disgusted.

I’m giving it 3 stars because the color is wonderful. The problem is that it’s been 3 months since I colored my hair and I’m still washing red dye out every time I shower. This is ridiculous. Do not buy this if you don’t want to be washing red out every time you shower.
