Perfect Mopani Driftwood
This driftwood is a fantastic addition to any aquarium! The two pieces I received are incredibly unique and of high quality, leaving me at a loss for how to place them in my tank. After boiling them for over an hour to release as much tannin as possible, the wood sank much easier. I highly recommend this product!

Beautiful pieces
The one piece is absolutely what I was expecting. Nice large piece. Beautiful grain/color. I love the shape and knottiness. The second piece was a little smaller than expected , but works well in my 20 gallon tank. I am waiting on some more plants to fill in the space. Overall Iโm really happy with the pieces. I did boil the pieces first. I didnโt have a big enough pot for the large piece, so I used my roasting pan. I boiled it for 1 hour and flipped it, then another hour. I did this 3 times. The smaller piece was mostly under water each time, I did flip it as well to get the little edges. So it definitely got a good boil. Then I followed the directions on the little card that came with the wood and soaked them in a bucket of cold water, adding sea salt, for one hour. This did very little. I decided to soak it for 1 day or 24 hours. This pulled out more tannins. Then I changed the water and soaked for another 24 hours 2 more times. The smaller piece was ready after 48 hours of cold soak. It did not float. The bigger piece needed more time. After the 72 hours, I put it in place and anchored it with a netted bag of old substrate I was using to cycle the new tank. It took about another week for it to fully saturate and not float. A small amount of tannins were released into the tank water, so made the water a little dark, but not too bad. If I ever need more wood, I will order from them again.

nice pieces, advise boiling to minimize tanin leaching
nice pieces of wood. if possible, I advise boiling the wood to remove the tanins. The pieces that I was able to boil, are leaving the water nice and clear. The one that was too big to boil has definitely leached tanins into the water and the water is looking cloudy.

good but needs prep
very pretty but loaded with tanins - even though it says it is pre-boiled you still need to boil it and get all the color/tanins out otherwise it may dye your aquarium water - i boiled it a few times for a few minutes but my pot was not big enough so i had to do a few sections at a time - the water turned a dark brown - then i submerged it in tap water for a couple days replacing the water each day - last i sprayed it with dechlorinated water - it is very pretty but its a bit of work before getting it ready for the aquarium - also added a seachem purigen filter to my aquarium filter to capture any tanins left
