Pokémon X•Y, Vol. 1 (Volume 1)

I absolutely loved reading this manga. It was easy to follow and was a great story. My only complaint was that it is short and I wanted more.

This is the first graphic novel I have purchased and I am very pleased with it. Takes some getting used to reading from right to left!

Very accessible and enjoyable comic book. Great images although a colour version would be most welcome.Story line touches briefly on the contemporary theme of Hikikomori ( Self Isolation) offering spectacular resolution for re inclusion from the condition. Next addition will be sought. Team Flare unnamed but hopeful for the next book.

The story is short but sweet. The book itself however is rather bad quality. Might as well get a used copy if it's so cheaply made in the first place.

No what I expected at all - black and white inside and not colourful at all. Not suitable for kids.

The back cover is actually the front cover, it's back to front! You start at the back and work your way forward, quality is rubbish

My son collects these and so it was another one to add to his collection. He loves anything Pokemon.

I loved the book and the story and am going to buy the next parts.

It's a great start to another Pokemon adventure series. I have red/green - ruby/sapphire pokemon adventure book, so I really love these books. It's a shorter book, like the black/white adventure books. It's not bad for 5 bucks.In the first book you are introduced to the main characters, x and y, the legendary pokemon, Xerneas and Yveltal, and the new mega evolutions.

Man sollte ja meinen, dass diese Manga-Serie nach elf großen Kapiteln langweilig wird; im Gegenteil! Dieser erste Band verspricht Spannung pur und das in nur knapp 80 Seiten.Im neuen Kapitel erwarten den Leser wieder neue interessante Charaktere, die zwar auf den Personen des 3DS-Spiels basieren, aber trotzdem ganz anders sind. Ich möchte nichts vorweg nehmen, also hier nur eine grobe Beschreibung der Handlung: Die Freunde X, Y, Shauna, Tierno und Trevor beginnen eine Reise durch die Kalos-Region, nachdem etwas Unerwartetes in ihrer Heimat geschieht. Aber sie ziehen nicht unbedingt mit den üblichen Gründen los, die man von Pokemon-Trainern kennt. Jeder der fünf verfolgt seinen ganz eigenen Traum. Doch man kann nicht behaupten, dass auf der Reise alles glatt läuft. Zu anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten kommt auch noch Team Flare hinzu, das Pläne für die Kalos-Region schmiedet...Als Kenner der vorigen Kapitel weiß man, wie außergewöhnlich die Protagonisten sind. Und hier ist es nicht anders. Vor allem X (der auf dem männlichen Trainer basiert) ist ein wirklich interessanter Charakter, den es so in noch keinem Kapitel gegeben hat. Zum ersten Mal setzen die Autoren hier auf eine sehr zurückgezogene Persönlichkeit, zumindest wird er im ersten Band so dargestellt. Ich bin aber sicher, dass bei allen Charakteren noch einiges an Entwicklung auf uns zu kommt.Ich muss zugeben, dass mir das Spiel damals sehr gut gefallen hat, allerdings mochte ich die Charaktere nicht besonders. Der Manga schafft es trotzdem, sie mir sympatisch zu machen und gibt ihnen Tiefe. Ich kann den zweiten Band jetzt schon kaum erwarten! Theoretisch wäre die geringe Umfang ein Minuspunkt, aber bei Schwarz-Weiß sind es auch nur Minibände und es wurde sich schon genug beschwert... Ich finde das Miniband-System in Ordnung. Dafür, dass es so wenig Seiten sind, ist es ja auch günstiger und der nächste Band kommt jeweils schneller heraus.Sowohl für Fans der Reihe als auch allen weiteren Pokemonfans eine klare Kaufempfehlung von mir!
