This pen feels well made. The weight and balance are just right. The pen is quite heavy, but that all adds to the solid, reliable feel. The black finish looks great. The ink flows smoothly and so far hasn't dried up at all. My handwriting isn't great but there is just enough resistance on the paper to slow my hand down a little, so the end result looks better. A lovely instrument and a good investment, especially at the price.

I’ve always written with ballpoint pens, so I was curious to try something more elegant and I’m glad I went for this Ellington fountain pen. On the brand’s own website this pen looked nice but on Amazon it was a much better deal, so I took the plunge. I immediately felt the difference, it’s substantial, but not heavy. The medium nib writes smoothly and consistently, I haven’t experienced any skipping or blotting. I’m getting used to it, I find I write a bit slower and more deliberately now but that’s part of the charm. The pen also comes with a refillable ink converter and three cartridges. The gift box doesn’t give high end vibes but it does the job to keep my pen safe in my bag. It’s a good entry level luxury fountain pen without over spending. I’m really happy with the purchase and I’d absolutely recommend it.

This pen is awesome! As soon as the nib touched the paper, I knew I’d made the right choice. The ink flow was perfect and it dried so quickly. I prefer to use it without the lid as it’s the perfect weight for me and sits so comfortably in my hand. It looks beautiful too. I chose the green one because it looks really classy. I haven’t used a pen and ink for years, so I was rather cautious about buying a fountain pen again. I’ve tried others in the past, but they were disappointing - messy, with uneven ink flow, so now they just sit on my shelf collecting dust. I honestly can’t recommend this pen highly enough. Trust me, you’ll end up throwing out all your other pens, whether they’re ink pens or ballpoints

I was a little concerned ordering this fountain pen due to some of the marketing claims made by Ellington Pens and a number of not too complementary reviews on YouTube. Lets be clear this is a Chinese made pen produced for Ellington Pens and some of the claims they make are very misleading and possibly untrue. That said, the pen seems to be of a decent quality and writes nicely. Ellington makes claims of it being 'The best balanced pen ever made', I would have to disagree as I have far better balancing pens in my own collection. I find it difficult to use with the cap posted as the hexagonal cap finial throws the balance out completely and it's purpose isn't clear. It's quite a nice writing pen otherwise and is comparable to some other makes in the price range. Competent rather than exceptional. I have taken off one star due to the less than honest marketing employed by Ellington Pens.

A beautiful, quality pen and a lovely writer. Very nice to hold, well balanced and light weight. I want an emerald green one as well if I can get it with a medium nib.

Firstly, the price of this pen is decent. It looks fantastic and has a nice, quality weight to it and it comes with a converter and three ink cartridges. I love the style and details. It looks quite premium while still being nondescript and low-key. I hate flashy pens that try too hard to look expensive. That's about where the things I like come to an end. I ordered the medium nib, but it's definitely more like a fine or even extra fine. The line is razor-thin. I also don't find writing with it to be particularly smooth; it almost drags and the ink flow comes and goes. I'll write five or six words perfectly and then the ink tapers off to a barely legible hint for a couple words. The ink itself is also strange. I'm not sure if they were just trying for some unique shade of black, but the colour is very weak. It's grey, not black. I don't like it, personally. It looks like ice been watering down my ink or something. I hate the hassle of returning things, so I might keep it as a spare, but I certainly couldn't see myself using this pen every day.

I absolutely love this fountain pen. For years, I have bought fountain pens both expensive and regular ones. The Ellington pen out does every pen I have ever bought before. The Ellington pen writes smoothly, the ink is continuous, without any scratchy halts or blobs. This pen just writes. You won’t know until you try it. This is it! This is my final pen. I will never buy any other pens.

(BLACK model) A truly awesome fountain pen. Great weight. Nice balance. Posts well (a bit heavy on the end but manageable). The ink flows with great confidence and boldness on the page. I find the barrel a bit short for where my forefinger and thumb want to ride it. They prefer to be above the cap line but not enough barrel to sit properly in the thumb saddle/webbing. Posting extends the length but, as mentioned earlier, there's a bit of weight to it. Well engineered and a great writing instrument well worth double the price. Happy Happy :) 3 month follow-up: still my favorite writing instrument of the 20+ pens that I have. I just put in a new ink cartridge and it was an effortless transition without having to prime the pen in some way to regain full flow.

Feels nice in the hand and has a luxurious, premium appeal. The nib took some time to wear in and feel smooth but after a week of use it's much improved. The medium nib has a broader pen stroke than I expected. Lines are quivalent width to 0.7mm ballpoint gel ink pens I own despite this one being advertised as 0.5mm. In hindsight I would have picked the fine nib over medium. Parts and accessories are very expensive to ship to Australia, a new nib is almost the same price as a whole new pen.

The nib scratches a bit on the paper. I loaded it with one of the black cartridges provided and the ink seems good even compared to the one I usually use: the Montblanc black ink
