fantastic
Super duper! Can't fault this at all! I don't belive in using harmful products on my pets as I think it's totally uneccessary. I have 6 dogs, 2 cats and 2 kittens, this did the job with the lot of them. It really is fantastic with different hair types and cuts through even the thickest of coats with ease, however, I'd still advise that you use it very gently and avoid tugging at the coat; use the comb to slowly detangle the hair from root to tip especially on thick or wirey haired breeds (cat or dog). Before you start, fill a jug up with hot water and a little fabric conditioner, avoid using shampoo as it will bubble up in the jug when you rinse the comb inside to get rid of malted hair, fleas and eggs ect. The fabric conditioner will ensure that it kills the fleas and ensures that they sink to the bottom of the jug, you can lift it up to see how many you catch as they will be visible at the bottom of the jug. It doesn't need to be a lot of fabric conditioner, I'd say a good capful is all you need (1 part conditioner to 4 parts water); also be careful to place the jug at a distance (arms reach) just in case your furbaby can't sit still so as to avoid any accidents. Gently comb through the hair checking for fleas and eggs every two or three strides through your pets coat, be quick to dip and swill the comb into the jug of hot water or the fleas can jump back into the coat or onto any surrounding areas which can exacerbate infestation. I normally comb in both directions, up against the fall of the coat but also back down the smooth top of the coat. Take your time, be thorough and don't press too hard or you'll upset your furbaby. Remember to do in a well lit area to better your view so that you can see right down into the fur, also double check by randomly parting the fur for any pests/ eggs that may have escaped your attention. Don't forget to check the stomach area, around the legs and tail as fleas tend to vacate key areas of the body when they sense the comb gliding through the fur as well as repelling from the fabric conditioner; I found that they jumbed down the tail and legs to avoid capture! After that just bath your pet in a normal pet shampoo or baby shampoo as my vet recommended to get rid of the fabric conditioner as pets with sensitive skin may experience irritation. If you have a cat that hates the bath, just wipe them down with a damp cloth (just water only), use a pet wipe or even a fragrance free baby wipe and then allow to dry. Don't forget to wash all of your pets bedding, any furnishings that can be washed; if they frequent your bedroom tthen wash your bedding and your clothes. Also ensure that you vacuum your house thoroughly as well as keeping it clean from the usual dirt and hairs that get brought in with daily living. Also after walking your dogs or if your cat has been outside, ensure that you wipe them down with a damp cloth again just to remove any surface dirt or pests that can get caught in their coats. By doing this you are breaking the flea cycle thus preventing them from reinfesting your house and breeding over and over again.Get yourself into a routine and be persistent, you don't need to waste your money like I used to do on expensive flea treatments, this comb is all you need. Given that my house is like a small pet shop with so many animals, I was continually plagued with fleas and irritated skin on both myself and the pets even after trying out so many different products, I just became very frustrated with the lack of results. I didn't hold out much hope for this but I stand corrected. It's so simple and effective, all you need is time, patience and persistence. Finally, if your pets have irritated skin from infestations or infections of any kind. I'd highly reccommened using DermOpt spray between washes (you can also buy their shampoos), I swear by this for all of my pets; it's a great skin soother and prevents any future infestations of fleas, ticks and mites. After washing or wiping coat clean, just spray on and comb in before allowing coat to dry naturally. Hope this helps and good luck!

Death to fleas
Incredibly effective - the very fine spacing of the teeth is far better than my previous flea comb. The pussies are most grateful.A tip for using it - someone was asking how to get rid of the fleas from the comb. I find a tin (or similar) of very hot water helps - use the comb and then quickly dunk in the hot water for a few seconds - kills the little beasties, then use a piece of kitchen towel to remove any other grot from the teeth. Repeat until happy.

So effective! Wonderful.
This comb is amazing. I’ve assiduously used spot-on on my 4 cats along with spraying my home regularly since they were kittens but could see from blood spots where they had been sitting & them scratching they still had fleas & that the situation was worsening in the warm weather. This product arrived today & within the first couple of combs I was combing out live fleas every other stroke. I followed the advice of other reviewers & had a large bowl of water with a drop of fabric conditioner in it at the ready & did need it to get rid of the fleas but that was easy enough. To be aware that of my 4 cats, one will happily be combed, the second swiped out a bit at first but then was okay with it for a while & the third doesn’t like it so I’ll need to try to get him used to it (cat no 4 is outside so I don’t know how he’ll react!) But I think with even the cat who doesn’t like it, just a few strokes of the comb each day when I can fit them in is all to the good. My point being your cat may or may not like being combed with it but even if they aren’t keen it’s still a worthwhile purchase, as just a few strokes of the comb is removing more fleas than the spot-on appears to have been able to kill despite regular usage. I’m really hoping that if we make this a daily routine the fleas will at least be kept to a bare minimum & hopefully eventually eradicated. I so wish I’d bought one of these combs sooner!

LOVE IT
When Frontline failed me, I bought this comb and have been combing my dog daily. The first day, the number of fleas was horrifying, and the amount of "flea dirt". I felt so bad for my dog but so relieved I finally had a way to help him.I followed the great advice from user "Whiskey and Cigars". One thing I'd say, personally, is you can simply use a mug of boiling water, no need for fabric conditioner which you don't want to get on your pet's coat as you don't want them licking that. Plain old boiling water does the job, the fleas die instantly when they hit the surface. The first day you will need a big bowl of freshly-boiled water, but as the days go on and you use the comb daily and you're picking up fewer fleas, a regular mug with boiled water in it will do the job. Comb dog > catch flea on comb > pinch flea between thumb and finger > drop the little bugger in the mug > flea hits water, instantly dies. YAY! (sorry, but my legs have been covered in bites, and my poor dog has been suffering so much with these nasty things)

All round good comb
We just had a flea emergency, the first in many years so did the cats and the house.Spotted this while searching for various anti-flea devices and bought on a whim.Turns out it`s great !Didn`t actually get any fleas as I think they`re mostly gone from the cats now due to the purge but did get quite a bit of remaining dirt from the one with the denser hair - disgusting, this stuff is dropping all over the house and you can`t really see it.So, it did some good after all and will continue to use it as a regular comb (if she`ll let me for more than 10 seconds)The tines aren`t sharp but I did need to be gentle (I tried it on myself *first*)Works well as a normal comb as it reaches deep into the hair and combs it and any debris out, the regular de-shedding one doesn`t do much after removing some lose hair - this gets right in and combs properly.A very reasonable price as well.
