Unsupported potentially useless
I am quit competent with network, software, and hardware installation and maintenance and have owned and operated two Hikvision cameras and NAS surveillance station for years. I very much like the Hikvisions cameras I currently use. However, I was not able to find a way to get this camera online to connect with either hik-connect nor the NAS surveillance station. I could login to the camera and get an excellent live view and edit the camera's configuration. But it was not possible to connect otherwise. I spent several days before contacting technical support because I have rarely needed it and I have rarely gotten information for which I was unaware through support. According to Hikvision Technical Support - USA, "The serial number is NOT from the North American Region Products purchased outside of our Region, purchased from unauthorized distributor(s) (Such as eBay, or Amazon), or simply not Hikvision products" are not supported. Support through Amazon directed me to returns, which under the circumstances, appeared to be the appropriate action. I like the camera's features and the image i saw when logging in directly but without the ability to monitor the camera along with the other two it is useless to me. I will try another source with a reasonable return policy .
