For my needs, it seems an improvement on my sm58. It seems clearer, and on my keyboard vocaliser there’s an improved separation with harmony. However, the p’s ( puffs) seem to be slightly more pronounced. Very pleased with it though.

This is a great microphone! it has that vintage look and very reasonably priced. The sound quality is excellent as one would expect from SHURE. Comes with an adaptor ring which enables it to be screwed onto American type mic stands. Great buy!

I ordered this microphone for my grandson's 18th birthday present. I ordered in two months in advance to ensure it arrived in time and also because there were only 5 left in stock. It arrived within days of ordering, so I'd have had no worries on that score. By the time my son had finally given me the link for the item, it had unfortunately gone up twice from the original price but when we gave the gift to my grandson last week, the look on his face when he opened it was worth every penny. He was over the moon with excitement. He was excited before he actually opened the box, when he saw the name Shure, as he knows it is a good name to start with. Then when he took the microphone out of the box he was absolutely delighted. He had to go and fix it up and sing into it immediately - and have his dad take a photo of him with it. He is in a group and he has already "christened" it. I was surprised at how heavy it was - it's obviously a quality article, not just a "bit of tin".The others got gold chains for their 18th presents - this seemed a bit of a strange gift, but it's definitely HIT THE RIGHT NOTE!

A really good sound through this. Once on the stand it’s a little tight to get the lead in, but an excellent quality solid piece of equipment.

Good price and obviously it's Shure! I've wanted one of these for years and it looks and feels great. Friends have commented on how good I found now too. I have friends who have had the £50 they look ok, but the sound and plastic feel doesn't cut it. Don't buy those!

One of my favourite things to own! Looks beautiful and has a good sound. My band's singer prefers to use my Shure 55 over her superior sound quality microphone because its so pleasing to use. To be honest the sound is very convincing as well especially for jazz musicians even though I wouldn't suggest recording with it.

Beautiful Mike. Great build quality , clear sound - very directional to blot out peripheral noise, and exactly the same as you'll see again and again in 60's 70's 80's movies and concerts. Looks the biz.
