Arrived damaged and due to timing of installation didn't notice until return window was closed
The alarm is faulty and does not operate. The return window is now closed (6 days past) and so now stuck with an over-priced piece of junk.

Works Well
There's such mixed reviews on this product, but ours works great! Haven't had a problem with it not working. We have young children and our slider leads to our pool area so we wanted to have an extra layer of safety. The alarm is loud, and I can hear it throughout my entire house, even when in the shower. We also got a sliding door lock as a backup safety precaution so our children can't open the door with it's in lock mode.

Just what the inspector ordered
We had a new pool installed and the inspector required a door alarm for the sliding door that leads to the deck next to the pool. We should be able to pass final inspection with this alarm installed. There are two settings: the first sounds right away when the door is opened to alert you in case a child would try to get to the pool, the second sounds after a 7-second delay. This alarm is very loud, like you can't ignore it kind of loud. Very reminiscent of a fire alarm-type pitch and you will want to turn it off ASAP, which is the point.

Gives me peace of mind.
These door alarms arenโt stylish, and the alarm still rings 15% of the time when I remember to press the button (which is about 95% of the time). I suspect that it has something to do with the way I press itโฆ sharply/firmly instead of a slow depress of the buttonโฆ still working out the kinks. Regardless, with young kids and a water hazard outside, I am glad they exist and that we have them installed.

Bought this trying to save over a door closer, but this doesn't work
The media could not be loaded. I had an auto closer on the door and when I replaced the door some of the parts were "missing" after the install. I called and they wanted $125 just to look at it and more if parts were missing, so I figured I'd explore other options. I came across this alarm and it looked like it would fit the bill, I do have kids and wanted to have something on the door unlike others doing this just for code. The install wasn't easy, the sensor wire is so short and I was trying to get this lower so that someone just over 5' could still reach it. It ended up too high but it's close enough, then onto the sensors, I had to make my own riser out of scrap would to line up the sensors as they weren't working surface mount. After it was all mounted I thought I'd just plug in the battery and off we go, the first 2 times it detected the door and went off, then I tried pass through 5 times and the alarm would go off every time. More testing I got it to be about 50% reliable on the pass through which isn't nearly good enough. With the kids down stairs we found that my wife or I would leave then the alarm would go off leaving both of us running to the door to check for kids headed to the pool. Because of that, this alarm might as well be junk. This alarm is essentially the boy crying wolf, over and over and over again! The video shows the failure of the pass-through as well as demos the sound when it fails to work. It also shows the company recommended fix (after I sent them the first 1/2 of the video).Pros:Alarm gets your attentionCons:Pass through doesn't work reliably leading to false alarms/crying wolf/etc.Short leads on the wire, requiring a rather high install on sliding door.No riser for magnet or sensor to level on uneven door.Bottom line:This alarm SUCKS!!! Don't buy it! If you made the mistake like me, return it like I did.
