This mold is amazingly well crafted from dense engineered stone. The level of detail is astounding and the halves fit together very tightly. It’s obviously made with very highly precise manufacturing. The included instructions are clear and easily understood.I haven’t made any Senko baits with it yet but it’s pretty clear from looking at the mold that they’re going to be killers on the water. They have just the right tapers and ribbing to induce that slow wobbling descent through the water column that makes them so deadly on large and small mouth bass.My only beef is that the included oil bottle leaked all of its contents out before it arrived at my home. It got everywhere … soaking the cardboard box, the mold, and saturating the instruction sheet. Luckily, the box itself was well wrapped in plastic so none leaked out of the mold box itself.

The media could not be loaded. I like going fishing with family and friends. I don't mind spending countless hours sitting and waiting on the antipated big catch. But, what I don't like about fishing is spending more money than necessary on soft bait purchases. It can really add up especially if you are prone to loosing them like me. *I am by no means a professional.What I am though is a crafter. And, believe me when I say that I am so excited to use these molds. I honestly had no idea such a thing existed outside of a big manufacturing factory.I know what colored soft baits you need for certain water conditions, but now I can be super creative and make some that you simply can't buy. I am also thinking of making some each year and gifting them as special gifts to family members. Believe me, I can make some really creative things.As far as the build of the mold itself, it feels solid. It is so well made, that aside from me dropping it or something, it should last for many years - maybe even to my son's generation.The mold secures really tight, and the directions are pretty straight forward. You will need some pre-mixed plastisol cubes or you can use the liquid version. *See directions for complete details.As far as price, $44.99 is a good price for years of use. I pour my own baits and have several different molds, and this one ranks as high as all of them. It’s two pieces fit together like a glove (and that’s kind of a requirement if you don’t want hot plastic leaking during a pour!). But what separates it from my other molds is its external shell. It looks nicer and the type of mold (“senko 5”) is stamped on it so it’s easy to identify. Might be little details, but they make it a step above my other plain lead molds.

There are a lot of molds out there and the vast majority of them are junk or incredibly expensive. This mold is high quality at a budget price. It does not leak hit plastic during injection and it consistently puts out a quality product.

I started collecting my old baits not knowing why I was doing it. Then I found out about tools for making your own baits and i'm glad I was keeping them. If you have as much luck catching bass with senkos as I do, you can now make them in any color, with as much flake and or salt as you like!
